I know how people on this forum love to have a go at peple not wearing the right attire when riding. Well knock yourself out with this one. Cambodian man with three other adults and a baby onboard. Plus check out the thongs, er that would be jandals.
Apparently the death rate from motorvehicle accidents in Cambodia is at a record high of 26.5%. I wonder why!?

Not for this guy!!
I might wear a 'shorty' helmet (has the words "Free Bird" on it, anybody know (a) who the singer group is and (b) what the words are?) fingerless gloves for a 1900km+ tour of the South Island - BUT I always wear steel-capped boots when riding.

I was visiting Phnom Penh Cambodia 1997 on a business trip few just before the civil war, and my driver always carry a hand gun plus M16 in the boot.
The driving condition is shocking with no marking on the road, the traffic rules are not existed.
Bikes everywhere 3 or 4 ups with no halmet. small/light vehicle/bikes give way to cars and cars give way to trucks. (if they are bigger, just get out of their way)
My driver told me, if he hit any human been, make sure that person is doomed otherwise he has to feed him/her and their family for life, the cost of one off payment is under 250USD to their family.
(FYI working in a rice farm from 6am to 6pm earn less then $1USD Per day, at the time $1USD = 8000 local currency and a dinner is 20 local currency, my Merc S320 Taxi including 1 Driver, 1 Bodyguard and fuel is USD$25 per day)
And if you own a nice car (eg a Merc or Beemer) the police will not charge you, they will just ask you to compensate the victom at the above rate plus a donation to the officer !!!!
Shocking isn't it :cold:
BTW, war broke out 4 day after I arrive in Phnom Penh and I was 1 of the 50 New Zealander flew out by the Australian Airforce's C41, stuck in Phnom Penh for 10 days and got my camera and cash (only 100 USD) robbed at gun point by a group of 10-13 year old boys wearing army uniform in my hotel lobby. And there's so much more horror stories that I encounter during that trip (Long stories and too scary to tell, eg. first time in my life saw a young person took a bullet .....), you do not want to know the age of that yound person !!!!! I am so so glad I am still alive.
Edit: Sorry, that photo just bought up my memory, maybe the above text shouldn't belong to KB forum, admin, please feel free to delete/alter

To be expected for that part of the world. In fact it's quite normal to lengthen the seat accommodate even more.
Cars are too expensive, roads are generally crap, commuter bikes are japanese rip offs and cheap. How else is a guy supposed to get his family around?

Just for you Scumdog....
Artist: Lynyrd Skynyrd
Song: Free Bird
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
There's too many places I haven't seen
And if I stayed here with you, now
Things just wouldn't be the same
Well I'm as free as a bird now,
And a bird you can not change.
And a bird you can not change.
And a bird you can not change.
Lord knows I can't change
Bye, bye, its been a sweet love.
And though this feeling I can't change.
Please don't take it badly,
The Lord knows I'm to blame.
And, if I stayed here with you now
Things just wouldn't be the same.
For I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And the bird you can not change.
And the bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.
Lord help me, I can't change.

Good one MSTRS!
I have a copy of the words 'somewhere' myself.
Look up the words to "Billy's got his beer goggles on" and you'll see that song mentioned on it too.'
