Thats ok, I might see if I can buy a set from Boomer once he has scrubbed them in and got rid of the chicken strips.

Would be handy if they changed colour when they're down to illegal tread depth, or on slicks when down to "change 'em NOW" tread remaining

Haha, yeah, they could be normal black until you run out of tread, then the pink bit (mmm, pink bits . . .) gets exposed. No big macho biker is going to leave pink tyres on his bike, thats for sure - just in case he gets mistaken for being one of the "other" type of big macho leather clad men.

Pretty sure the black ones are a 'proper black', unlike the dark grey of regular tyres.

Some blue ones would offset the pink bits on Barbie just nicely.

Bridgestone had these for cars a while ago, left coloured burnouts. Was just three stripes though, not the whole tyre. I can't remember, but I think they stopped making them because gangs were using them to mark their territory. Or maybe it was the extreme gayness? I forget... Honestly, I'd disown any of my mates is they brought them.

Not ones with tyres that make people laugh at them (I hope).

WRT
15th February 2006, 13:46
Those tyres were called scorchers if I remember rightly. They were designed for the American market and the only ones that you could get here were parallel imported. As they were designed for US roads, not NZ ones, they had problems with the tyre splitting at the point where the coloured stripes ran through them. If they were left on long enough to split the whole way through, then congratulations - you got yourself a blowout.

I'd be in for tyres of "proper black" to complement a nice black mirror finish...

I know a certain limited edition 05 636 that is requiring new tyres. It use to belong to the ultimate bling master, so these would be perfect. Where is Ninjaboy.

Cop to cager: WTF? What do you mean you "didn't see him"!?

Scarily enough, it actually looks good - but only because they painted the rims, tank and a few other bits black to break up the yellow. It'd suck big time if they had everything including the tyres yellow - that would be way over the top.
