View Full Version : Wellington blue SV650
Was it anyone from here on a blue SV650 who was having the chat with the bike cop last night (Thurs) around 6pm just before the Ngauranga interchange? Hope it was a friendly chat.....

Yup - that was me. Seem to have a large target painted on my back - get stopped far too often. Apparently I didn't indicate every time I changed lanes. No ticket though. I wasn't speeding - wasn't lane splitting - I was trying to be good, but apparently even that small feat is beyond me.
I'm getting to the point where it's hardly worth commuting - I've got a 45-50 minute ride, which involves playing with all that motorway traffic and the cops seem to like pulling me up for the slightest things :innocent: . Only saving grace is that I ride over the paekakariki hill road since its a better ride than trundling down the coast with all the cages.

That's because the Welly motorway cops are pedantic shitheads...

They're even more pedantic shitheads than normal because they have supervisors around all the time, watching them.

And tonight (4pm) the pedantic shitheads had a bike cop with a radar hiding in the bushes where the Ngauranga on lane merges with the northbound mtorway and three or four cars down the road awaiting instructions. They had one bike rider pulled up at the weighing station as I went past.

I usually travel into Wgtn at around 6:50-7:30. There are very few, if any, MOT on the road.
Today I forgot that it was a short week and had to travel in a lot later, around 8:35 - 9:15 and the MOT was out in force, creepy. And as I had to work late there were even more at the end of the day.
Moral is travel early missout on seeing any MOT.

Yeah I saw that pathetic peformance from the HP tonight too. Caused a bit of traffic mayhem too with cars all slowing down. I wonder how much more dangerous it is causing traffic issues like that than letting folk get along at 110-120kmh on the motorway. HP..............what a bunch of wankers.
SVS: nice to have seen you, sorry it was in those circumstances, but at least you didn't get a ticket.
:Offtopic:
Jimbo750: did we see you on Sunday around 4.45pm, on the passing lanes just after Mackay's Crossing? You were heading north, we were heading south, on our bikes (red Monster and red/black GS1200SS). I'm sure it was you.

That's exactly how I got my last ticket. 120km/h in my own lane minding my own business. $170. 35 demerit points. C*NTS

I know Fazers are quick, but time travel?
The last MOT cops were around in '90.

You looked absolutely wonderful. Leaning over like shit, sparks flying from what's left of your footpegs, kneesliders scraping, 220kph weaving in and out of cars, four HP cars with lights flashing in pursuit.....opps, sorry, have taken a leaf out of MatthewT's book and am exaggerating.
You looked like a nice guy on a GSXR750.
