Don't get it on yourself Nigel - absorbed through the skin and takes a lot of time to dissipate from your kidneys/liver - has unpleasant side effects. I can give you an MSDS (safety) sheet on it if helpful. I used it when I drag raced. Nitro is worse - blinding headaches as well!

Oh, and Methanex in Taranaki are suppliers. They will tell you who are local agents.

Have you tried Mobil?
I used to get methanol for model airplane fuel in 20L drums from a place in Pakenham street, I think. Maybe try calling some of the numbers on this page (http://www.whitepages.co.nz/Pages/Search/Details/0,2624,a1281_d8884873,00.html?Name=Mobil+oil&Loc=auckland&Reg=).
