After fitting a K&N filter, Power Commander and a Micron pipe, the lads at AMPS set it up on the Dyno. 76 Lbs Torque and 148 RWHP. The power delivery is alot smoother now and it got rid of that flat spot up to and around 5K. Didn't notice a significant increase in power but it sounds real angry.
So I thought I better give it the real test so did the Coro loop today with FishSlayer, another KB'er (forgot his KB name- sorry man on gigantuan) and a mate. Wound it out at one stage and my seat cowl came off, flew in front of me (how does that happen?) and wacked me on the arm and then disappeared into the bushes. We did a recky but to no avail. Expensive trip but better than shinning the office chair with my ass.
Thanks to the team at AMPS, they did a great job setting it up.

Home made dyno's aren't accurate, you should know that. And remember, you can spend as much as you like on a GSXR, but at the end of the day it's still the ugliest thing on two wheels. I'm feeling sick just thinking about it. When they revisit their design, fix their reliability issues and add some technology, I'll consider one.

Don't know if it adds much to performance tho, would have to ask dover or anyone else who has one.

May be it is but just after all that work & money would have thought it would have made alot more than that .
It was explained to me that these dynos are really not for comparing one bike to another, especially if tested on different dynos, but rather the same bike before and after.
They are more a computerised simulation of a dynomometer.
Not quite the real thing.
Don't know if that makes sense to you, but in light of my experience, and of what I have heard, it makes sense to me.
Sort of.

Sensei, Dyno's all read different, Brian does a very good job! his bikes are fast! The Dyno Brian uses is as old as you mate, he uses it as a test bench rather than an accurate Horse power reader.

See, there are some benefits of having an African mother Dover. Crack whore or not.
For clarification, the only reason mine was on the Dyno was to tune the power commander. I can't believe Mr Senseitive put his stock bike on a dyno. I bet he has measured his willy too.

what's the stock output and torque?
have you worked out how much you've spent vs how much you've gained?
just curious, cos I'd be doing the same thing, just wanna see what's worth what. I guess at the end of the day, to get the best, you do the lot, so I'm still gonna have to go ahead and do it.. fwiw, my bike was tested at 110rwhp at Red Baron..

A google search says around 140 stock. The main reason I wanted the upgrade was to get the power delivery smoother followed closely by upsetting the neighbours.

YOUR BLADE DOES NOT DO 300KMH , PROLLY MORE LIKE 250KMH.

probally about 200+hp at the rear...and by the way a dyno doesn't represent your real life top speed...as it doesn't factor air fricton and road fricton....

Aint that the truth. I got 175rwhp out of my old '73 Z1 engine at No.1 cycles on the dyno. It's had a fair bit done to it, though it did have seriously bent valves at the time, and you can buy a road bike now that comes close to that with just a pipe and a few other bits. And what about Kawasaki 636s making 120rwhp with just pipe , filter, and pwr commander. AND they are super grunty as well. My old Yoshy 1100 only made 120hp and it wasn't grunty down low at all.
I love technology(when it's all working).

Well we have something in common then. I have a black belt in Origami. When I don't feel like folding people into little swans, I resort to the more modern art of armed combat. It's alot easier and you can let your body go.

Very average huh?
Some of the guys that were beaten in these races include World TT champions!
I guess it only takes an average effort to take out the Isle of man champions. (Only according to Finn!)
So because guys like Andrew Stroud race the NZ street circuits, they're average? They are the guys taking out World Titles.
You'll find alot of WSB and Moto GP riders won't want to go near the TT circuit.

Invest in a bike computer (about $60). They're accurate to 1/2 km/h and they record top speed achieved. So you don't even have to watch the speedo - just hang on.
Cheaper than the cop radar test too!

I was allways told that no matter how good you are, eventually someone else comes along who is better. Yea my Honda might be slower than another bike, but I brought a 600cc and really don't care. Just for the record, Finn I'd be really impressed if you could give Sensei the learn. But what do I know, I ride a Honda and live in the naki. Although I really have no idea whats happening as all I see is a bit of a flame war in the thread, I'm impartial. My attitude is that your both better riders than me and I don't care much for what other people ride as I enjoy my own riding. Heck I have a Honda and a Suzuki so that shows I aint one sided eh. Am interested to know who you are though as I have no idea. Maybe you could come down to the naki and take us all for a ride, although I get the impression that I'd be riding by myself...:bye:
