We have a 7 year old kiwi bikeress and a 4 year old kiwi biker, both of whom are reasonably tall for their age, and have big feet! (She has size 2s)
Does anyone have some hand-me-down type gear they'd like to sell so that we may introduce the kids to the joys of pillioning?
Please pm with sizes and prices if you do.
We'll pay any postage/courier charges etc.
Thanks for your help.

We've had a peek on trademe and it's all mx gear...that's fine by me, as long as it protects the the kids should they need protection....

Jaybee--the hand me down bit I can't help ya with BUT -with BB and now BBB I can offer some advise.
Theres a leather crowd in christchurch-they make all sorts of leather gear.
I got BB his leather jacket there.
Gloves wise I started out with kids BMX gloves then moved up to xs ladies gloves.
Helmet wise --the issue is neck strenth in a crash--I started BB with an open face with a visor--then onto a BMX lid with goggles--then finally a lighweight shoei helmet.--Now he wears a HJC KIDS lid.
Thanks to Quazi BB has a full set of upper body armour built into a shirt--including a back protector.
Keepin em warm --Id suggest this time of gear checking out second hand kids ski gear. Its warm and has a fair bit of abrasion resistance.
boots wise I'd suggest old kids MX boots -with maybee a little padding in the toes.

I,m in the market for some kids road gear as well. (6-7 year old).
I wonder if there would be a market to hire out such gear if someone brought a KB set. With most people, taking a child out on a bike would be a one off trip now and again.
