Paeroa Flag wavers - ride back to aucks

Hey, I went as a flag marshall to paeroa, and met a cool bunch of KB'ers. Turned into a really good weekend.

On the trip back we had some good fun, there was me, another CBR250RR (in red), a no-fairing ZXR250, an R6 with pillion, and a GSXR1000. We came back via kaiawa and after behaving myself all the way down to Paeroa, I had trouble reverting to my old ways of nailing it the whole time. But I soon got used to it again. Was quite impressed with the other 250 riders through some of the twisty bits, cause both were pretty inexperienced I think. Also really impressed by the R6 (garethD i think) with the pillion even on the hardout corners. All in all, just a great bunch of people. Just wish I could remember all the user names, I'm terrible.

Met heaps more other KB'ers over the weekend, good sort, and not afraid of having some fun.

Yeah I expected heaps of cops, but didn't see one the whole way, the must have stuck to the main highways. We were going pretty swift too :scooter:

Sup mate, I was going pillion on the back of gareths r6, so awesome. my cib seems like a bloody old lady now (damn you garethhhhh!! :pinch:) I far as I know:

Correct you are. That ride back kicked ass :headbang: Amazing that we didn't see a single cop on the way back. I gotta get my fairings back on - going 175 without the top and side fairings has the wind hitting you pretty damn hard.

haha yeh was good ride, hit a corner or two a bit hot but instead of hitting the brakes i just tucked it in harder, having the fat guy on the back meant that it was scraping the pegs - a new experience for me.


Pyrocam's bike is straight red - it's vtec with the black/grey/red one, i think he means he was in red leathers?

I saw the guys on the red CBR and the naked ZXR in the morning as they went through Kaiaua. I was sitting at the table closest to the road with my bike on the footpath waiting for some mates. Were you in that group too?

dont think it was them... apart from the naked ZXR they were all in Paeroa on saturday afternoon/evening.

Gareth_D - Haha, can't believe you were scraping the pegs with a damn pillion on the back mate, that was some good riding. After that other guy with the pillion passed us, you took off after them through that twisty bit, and I couldn't even keep with you with just me on the bike. I think you'd be quicker if you went back to Puke with a 250 now mate.

that guy fucked me off, i was gonna get him good in proper, but i ended up not bothering because there were a few to many cars about and he had a Z1000 bs my 600, not that he was getting awway though... it was just starting to straighten up and it was coming into a residential area.

twas a good ride but I hung back on the twisties for a couple reasons. best part was riding my horse past all yous on the straight :)
