What does the stock bike do? that 9.36 was strapped, i've seen a stock 636 do a 9.89 strapped.

My best on my 93 GSXR1100 was 10.2 1/4

Let us know when they test one in showroom spec.

To get a sub 9 that's farken fantastic

Yep, to get a sub 9 that's awesome. On anything other than a full drag bike with a huge rear tyre you are really pushing to break the 9 barrier as you have wheelie problems or full on wheel spin.

I want one please :)

Forgive my ignorance ... google isn't behaving when I search for this.

What does strapped mean?

In the pic check the suspension out, i'd post it the link wont work, the front is off the ground but still nearly fully compressed, same with the rear, they strap a bike down, they refer to slamming the bike, cheap way is to use tie downs.
This lengthens the wheelbase, thus making it harder to wheelie, and the lack of suspension travel helps towrds the launch and traction and also less wheelie prone, like i said a stock straight off the showroom ZX636R ran a 9.89, no mods other than slamming it.
in no way am i saying the ZX14 is slow, but be interesting to see what it does in stock condition, like Lou said, i wouldn;t get too ecited over these figures either, the guys in the states always seem to run good times, better tracks and prep work, go a long way when you're talking tenths of a second.

I don't know about bikes over here, but when the fastest jap imports in NZ went over to Aussie they always they all hit there best times, but when Aussie cars go to Meremere they tend to add a second or two on there times.

In the '80s the Yank bike mags used a guy called Pee Wee Gleason, he must have weighed nothing and had reflexes like a snake because he could get 1/4 times like no-one else. Great for pub racing, but frustrating to try and get the same times.

What sort of 1/4 mile times have guys done at Meremere on stock bikes? The quickest I have seen was 10.1 on an R1 with wheelie bars. All the rest of the litre bikes I have seen are around 11.5 but in the bike reviews etc guys overseas pull low 10's on them all. Is Meremere just a shit strip?

Meremere's not a bad strip.
Last time I was there a guy on a relatively stock Busa was pulling regular 9.30's and a couple of 9.20's.

Pretty darn good really. Those things can move if you can stop the rear spinning and keep the front down. Problem is, sometimes they spin out and then things can get out of hand pretty quick off the mark.

Shit 9.20 is a bloody good run!!

I've seen a lowered aka strapped busa runing early 9's at meremere, the motor may well have been stock? Strapping bikes makes quite a difference, standard busa's are very bloody fast theres no denying that but i don't think they're that good unless the suspension is tweaked
Regardless it will be interesting to see what the ZX14 does off the floor....
