Need to know this real quick- how do you export from photoshop 8 to freehand 11 and have the image come in at the right resolution and with the layers still seperated???

You can't.
One is a vector program and the other raster (bitmap).

Best bet is to go the other way
take your freehand shapes back to photoshop.

I find freehand is better for architectural and technical illustration.
ai is better for text and nozzles and brushes.

but I'm still using 8 & 9.

I could buy a Gas Gas pampiera for the same as the upgrade would cost me. not playing.

Afraid you guys are going to have to wean yourself off Freehand. It's been killed by adobe when they took over Macromedia.

On the plus side, Indesign CS2 handles the psd layers just fine.
