nice good clean fun there I see........
I'm stuck here between bike malfunction, untenanted rooms, broken washing machine, stuck-up boss, quiet business, financial depression, daily traffic jams and 3 simultaneous projects at work needing me to work on through my nights.
Good to see world is in a sense of balance
Anyway, hopefully I'll be back with you next Month, great one.
Preferably on a shinier steed :headbang:
Btw, got a slight good news today: my bike insurance is due for renewal and the NCB has not disappeared yet, so I quickly called them and pay the premium. Saves me $600+

Nice Dave, i envy you quite a bit, for the riding part, not the withered old fossil that you are, not too mention slow on a bike and in the head, guess that's an age thing though, but dont worry it can only get worse and i'll be here to remind you.
When you shouting me lunch again, my pockets are empty, friday sounds good, cheers.

Hey F/F,
Yeah nice to meet you too, suspension is feeling pretty good now so I will be pulling the bike to pieces next week and cleaning all the dirt dust and sheep shit out of the nook n crannies then will throw a new rear tyre on and I will be keen for a bit of 22.
I've got a heap of annual leave owing so I might take a coupe of week days off in about 2 weeks and hit 22 with you during the day time and then maybe hit Bruce up for some pizza afterwards? :apumpin:

Bought this one in November, have ridden all the other litre bikes and yep mine is definitely the most boring!.Nah i don't think that way. Couldn't possibly make up my mind until i've actually got to know the bike inside and out, and you can't do that on a *test ride*, comes after several months usage when you can say you are 'one with the bike'! You know what i mean jelly bean?

But I do believe that the buzz factor you speak of comes more from within the rider than the bike! There ain't huge amounts of difference between all the modern thous, in fact *on the road* a CBR could blitz a ZX or Gixxer with the right rider in the saddle!! :yeah:

No mate.......bikes are infectious......I would love a Ducati 996 but a) cannot afford one b) you cannot have everything in life c) sometimes you do not realise what you have and d) you are greedy.....in the nicest possible way..
Probs is you would get a Gixxer or ZX10 by which time there will be something better......

I can vouch for the fact that Fishslayer is not a shit rider.
He can move when he wants to, when his doughnuts are in good shape. :)
I personally would like a GSXR1000 K5 as a hoon bike, but not for any rides longer than a couple of hours. That comes from being close to 50.
Even if I had a GSXR1000, I would still have a GSX1400. A lot of the new sportsbikes virtually do anything you ask of them and then more. Sure you can get into a heap of trouble if you are inexperienced on them, but generally you cannot out ride them, except on the track.
However, on the GSX1400, you can outride it, so you can ride to it's limits and work at getting the most out of it. This I find very satisfying. A fast run through some tight twisties gets the sweat up, believe me. I find this most enjoyable :) Who needs to go to the gym when you can wrestle a 1/4 ton of bike around the corners.

Also take note of the scene in the attached image and slow down for the corner in the background, Zed can tell you how he had to skip around as an r1,NC30 and cbr250 went off on that corner all around him at the same time!

KB ride down 22, heading back from Hams after lunch a group of four of us are slicing up the corners, blue R1 (we know who), my Bird, the NC30 & CBR following in close pursuit, we come to that corner and a mere 5m in front of me our mate takes said corner too wide and down the bank into the fence they go a tumbling...i managed to keep the Bird lined up around the corner and road to the top of the hill to turn around and when i did to my horror i realised that both bikes following me also went over the embankment ending in a pile on top of one another just mtrs behind the R1 - freaked me out to see them all down like that!! :(

Yip, had only just thought to myself "hmm pace is up there not feeling the best will drop out" so was only seconds behind everyone. Had to lift a bike off one after getting some sort of grunting swearing from the pom to know he was ok. was an interesting day, but always listen to that little voice , was it Jim the other day saying about the truck on the takas that would of had him had he not pulled off the road for no reason..........

at least the were easy to find and all concious, another ride watched the guy in front crash and fly (ie 20- 30 ft in the air) over some bushes then couldnt bloody find him!!! found him in a pile of leaves and nice bouncy shrubberys right next to a big tree! was very lucky he was!

If it is the uphill tight righthander you're talking about (northbound) then I have done one there myself.
Mauled the bike pretty bad and had to stop a car to get help pulling the bike to the road so I could ride it back to Tuakau and store it there overnight for pickup.
That was back in 2004.......

We should start a 'Victims of 22' club. I think i could qualify considering i binned my 600 on a road just off 22, Glen Murray Rd i think? Membership could easily begin with 10 or so riders that i know of on KB!! :buggerd:

And the old man's still slow as shit, you'd think with that kinda road knowledge he'd be demon fast, must be that walking frame hampering his cornering clearance.
