Finally went and did my scratch 'n win today, passed 100% ^_^

Really stressing now though... Firstly, need to get rid of my car (and get as much as humanly possible for it), then I've gotta decide which bike to get.
I'm still wanting a <02-04> Suzuki GSX250, but am battling to find one at a decent price. I know the GN250s are a good price, but... it's a GN250. And now, I went to a bike shop, and saw a brand new (still half in the box) Hyosung GT250R, which I want, but money is an issue at the moment since I'm still looking for a job... GRRRRRR so frustrating.

I used one of those GN125s at my Basic Handling Test, and I don't really like the seating position... I prefer the 'lean-over-the-tank race style' better'

a 2 stroke 150cc is a good 1st bike and you can pick one up cheap. Its REALLY a good idea to get something cheap as for your first bike untill you feel more confident(sp). Save your money for when you get your full license and get a mean as bike. Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy! As a side note it probably would be good to keep your car untill you get good at riding cause you'll fiind riding in the wet quite scarey at first (i did anyway) and it's nice to be drry and warm when u need to get somewhere when it's raining.

2-strokes always need constant maintenance don't they? and also, i'm gonna lose money on whatever bike i get, so if i start off with the bike i want, the devaluation won't bother me as much. Also, I'm determined to stay the hell away from cages as i hate them... Until I found out how cool bikes were, i used to just randomly drive around in my car, but now I use my car as little as possible.

Ps. Half of my biking experience so far has been on gravel, so I'm hoping that will help when it comes to wet weather riding.

Nope. What's to maintain ? I change the plugs every 20000 km or so. Keep the oil tank filled up. What else is there ? I pulled the barrels of the Titan at around 50000km, checke dthe rings, still within spec. so I put it all back again.

devaluation was not what i was thinking of, more that while your learning iif you make a mistake you could fuck your bike up. when you have more experiance you probably will be able to correct your mistake (or not make one) and so better to get a cheap bike to learn on.

yeah, i know what you mean... I'm thinking of looking for something cheap as you suggested... has anyone heard of the Kinetic/Honda GF170? if so, are they any good?
