Someone shaved normal cats, and then soaked them in the bath for 9 hours.

I am a cat lover, but those things are creepy looking sorry dude.
Get a burmese, or a burm/tabby cross, they make MINT pets, they are great natured, friendly, and do real goofy things that make you laugh. I put a sock over the head of a friends Burmese, and then teased it by getting the cat bikkies out of the cupboard, and the poor puddy was walking into walls, standing in his cat bowl water, smacked into the fridge, and to the delight of all onlookers, attempted to eat cat bikkies with a sock on its head.

Woohoooo for the cat.

You should try it out first... Get a big Tegel chicken and thaw it out, sit it on your lap for a few hours a night and see how it goes.

If you're sure that's the pet for you then just buy a fresh chicken every week.

That's one ugly MF cat.

Dude- I'm with MissSniper.
Those things only strengthen my view that some breeders are just going too far. Cats are SUPPOSED TO HAVE FUR!!! The've bred Persian cats to the point where some have difficulty breathing, can't close their mouths without effort and their eyes stream nonstop- all so they can have a flat face.

Sorry Sniper- this is a pet hate of mine (no pun intended, I was just bred to be funny)

As long as they don't have major care needs I say go for it!! Not the most handsome cats, but man, what character!

One advantage - at least you can see if it has flees.

No. They creep me out completely. I am with your loved ones on this one.

But if you feel you must, please at least do sedge's trial with the chicken first.

You'd have to keep the little bugger covered in sunscreen, especially if it's light coloured. It's not pretty when cats gets skin cancer
What about in winter? Will you knit it a little jersey to keep warm? Or make a suit out of fake fur, so it looks like a real cat.

scumdog
26th February 2006, 10:49
So in summing up: Most of those who posted here actually only like the fur - after all that is the thing that is missing on the cat that seems to be the basis for their judgement.

In that case those people should, instead of having/buying a cat, grab a handful of pink batts, spray them a tabby colour and sit with that in your lap - saves fleas, furballs, vomitted lizards and piss on you bikes wheels.

And if you run over the fekker it will be easy to 'reconstitute' it back into shape.

We have the devon rex (little bit of fur) Best cat we have ever had good character. The sphinx is alot work though needs sun block almost all year long and got to be realy carefull in the winter even with the devon rex you have to be carefull in the winter and summer. But they are realy good pets more like dogs than pets!

27th February 2006, 14:18
I'd have that for shock value, plus it won't moult.
Although I've just heard about a Norwegian Wood cat (?) they love water, they even have slightly webbed paws. Platypus?
It even shares shower time with the family.

Why do the bloody things need sunblock? Surely if they're Egyptian they're used to the odd bit of sun. But if you really want to protect it from the sun, stick it in a bag then you wont have to look at the ugly fucker either.

Beemer

The whole point of a cat is its fur - that lovely soft fur that you can pat and feel better about your life! Naked cats? You may as well just stroke a man...! (Now there's a thought!)

But if I was allergic to cats (heaven forbid), I'd have one of these because at least it is still a cat.

Or buy a possum fur hot water bottle cover - just like a cat but no claws or dribble!

They get skin cancer real easy, similar to albinos and white shorthairs.

Not good with our UV levels.

I'd have one in the tropics, but what I really want is an appartment kitten.
