Decending on Auck 17th-19th March some time.

Me, Skelstar and Badlieautenant are decending on Auckland in a couple of weeks for the U2 concert in the middle of March so it'd be good to catch up with some of you northerners. No idea where or when but one thought is to meet up on Sun morn and have 'brunch' or something and go for a hoon down SH22 on our way home.

We're all going to the Sat concert (which is at 7.30) so that kind of rules out Sat evening and no-one's really sure if we'll get there Fri night or Sat morn anyway. And BL is going in a car so I don't know what his plans are at this stage. But just to put the idea out there....

Also if anyone else wants to ride up that weekend (or back down on Sun) flick one of us a pm.

After a night at the "Church" bar in London a couple of years ago you can count me out - I still have a hangover:apint: And no I am 75% sure it wasn't a gay bar:blank: I'll be keen to catch up with the crew although i am going to the Friday concert so it would have to be Saturday afternoon as I am off early Sunday.

We are leaving Saturday morning and riding up for the saturday night show and coming back on sunday..we are staying about 5 km from the stadium...would be keen to meet up with everyone and ride back to Wgtn on Sunday.....

Ok, so sounds like this isn't happening anymore (U2 is postponed). Stink. There's still thoughts about doing some form of big ride that weekend, but no offence to Auckland but there's better places to go if there's no concert on.

When the new date is finalised (if it's still going ahead) then I'll try and organise a meet up again.

Theres a tentative plan to ride up through the Paraparas, Taumaranui and through to stay in Taupo? Then of to the Bay of Hawkes. Open to other suggestions.

A bit of an update:
Having read the 'coro loop' thread that started yesterday, Im semi-tempted to head up to Taupo and attend on Sat.

Would head up on Friday night (5ish maybe)...might try and go up through the Paraparas and just keep going on the twisty stuff until it gets dark and then head along the easy/straight stuff.

An early start on Sat (apparently) and up around the Coro loop. Other riders from around the region (taupo/tauranga/auckland) attending. Head to Auckland that arvo/night. Perhaps ride home on Sunday (Taumaranui, Paraparas etc). If I was on my own I could be tempted to ride in Auck on Sunday and head home Monday.

Its very weather dependant, but let me know if you are keen for some of the madness.

Could be keen Skelstar but that's a big mission. And I was having thoughts of popping in to the Central Districts Field days if we were heading up that way on Sat. Is Matt not keen anymore?

Mark? He is semi keen to come as far as Taupo but only if we were going up the Paraparas.
Big Mission? Reckon the longest day would be coming back from Aucks on Sunday.
