Just done 1200 kms on a new rear strada , paired with a standard Diablo front tyre.
Now I am a big fan of sticky tyres and normaly have run Diablo Corsas or BT014 Bridgstones and have been told that when I am in a hurry I leave black lines out of the corners, so you will know I am not easy on tyres. The Bikes a TL1000S with Ohlins shock.
I tried the Strada as I had a bit of touring riding planned and wanted to get home on the same tyres I left with.
After a few K's over the taupo road running in and scrubbing , Steve got bored and passed me so it was time for serious riding.
The Strada is a fine tyre that has plenty of grip on dry roads once warmed up. There was no problem over the Kaimais even having to tuck the feet in to stop the boots wearing on the road. after 600kms it was still looking like a new tyre. There was a couple of times where it moved a little after running straight for some miles and then tipping into a tightish corner and powering out, suggesting that the sides were running a bit cold. Dropping the pressure a little seemed to cure this later.
Through the Gorge from Opotiki to Gisborne once everything was well warmed up I decided to get agressive and see if I could make it misbehave ( remembering this is not marketed as a sport tyre). No such luck , never put a foot wrong. Started to show signs of the V Twin Torque out of corners wear wise off centre on both sides but nothing bad and the extreme edges still looking disapointingly newish.
Sorry I have not tried them in the wet yet.
Conclusion , they dont have the feel you get with a good sticky tyre that says you can throw the bike into any corner at any speed , but for any sane road riding its an impressive tyre that should get good Kms.
I will update as I go.
