Yea a good Chinese sooths the hunger pains. Use to go to them a lot but not much these days on account of language. I drive a shuttle that is used by Asians so the language thing gets to me a bit by the end of the day. Seem to prefer Indian now'days.

There's a place called 'Happy Valley' in Newmarket that does fantastic noodle food very cheaply. Huge Menu, $5.5-$8 for whatever, and big servings too. Mmmmmm.
And the fish and chip shop at the top of my street does the best crummed fish too......

lmao...for all unsuspecting travellers up this way DO NOT go to chippie in Whangaparaoa Road. It sux - no it is CRAP! Chinese is way better - only just.

Might start a thread....worse chippies to avoid

Good chineseness at The Golden something-or-other in Brooklyn.

For a laugh, look up "golden" in the Auckland whitepages. How many is that?

The Noodle House in Cuba Mall rocks.
So does the Thai place in Totara Park - sweet and sour chicken to die for (hmmm - that doesn't sound right - but anyway).

Generally any asian place in a residential area where there is an abundance of family pets is a good bet for a nice meal.

That'll be R&S Satay Noodle house then. Trainspotters will notice the khmer noodle house in the Reading Cinema complex has the exact same menu.

The other, newer noodle house in the left bank is also pretty good

I once came across a biker bar and resturaunt called The Fart on Inne. Just can not remember the sales pitch but it went something along the lines that the sound of their steaks were better than hogs.
