UK Coppers are becoming more and more cunning - I don't think this will happen in NZ as they have enuf trouble keeping their own cars on the road - let alone bikes..

Warning: entrapment ahead!

Eyes peeled for new Honda CBR600RR
News from the press department of the Northumbria Police department, which we print for you north eastern monkeys. "A new sportsbike has joined the Northumbria Police motorcycle fleet as part of this year's Weekender project. The motorcycle safety scheme involves riders being given a yellow or red card when they are spotted making an error by police.

Police patrols this year will be enhanced by the purchase of an unmarked Honda CBR 600RR sports bike, which will be fitted with a video camera."

Please be aware that, in addition to an unmarked be Honda CBR600RR sports bike, they will also be running a Honda SP-1 marked s and three new-model marked Pan-European motorbikes.

I'd heard about some coppers using CBR900RR's a few years ago over in the UK. Using a CBR600 is a sneaky sneaky move tho.

Sadly, our bike coppers are castrated with touring machines on long distance rubber. After all, when was the last time a KB'er was actually chased by a bike cop?? Quicker bikes wouldn't make that much difference unless chasing the usual naughty boys in cars

Ooooh oooh, I'll be a HP bike cop. I'll even provide my own bike. All I need is some blue and red led lights, airhorn, a badge and a resonable income. :Police:

lol I can see it now, every biker slowing down and no lane spliting when they see a CBR600 :blah:

Also why does everyone slow right down to like 30 k's when they go past a cop he's giving a ticket, like the cop cares ? :killingme

Yeah! Or even see a cop!! The chain reaction of brake lights when people see a cop on the side of the road always makes me shake my head.

Me too. Every time the whole traffic on the motorway slows down to about 80 from about 110, you know theres a cop stopped somewhere ahead.

Devon and Cornwall Police have had an R1 pursuit bike for a couple of years now, also an un-marked 1300 Yam with a camera.Camera bikes are getting more and more popular, only this week Welsh Police got a couple, scary thing about these is that they`ve got all the equipment you guys will be used to seeing in the back of those Holdens with the tailgate up inside one pannier, isnt technology great?Rather than filming stuff on the move these are designed to be basically moveable speed cameras,i.e they`ll get parked up somewhere and do static checks rather than chasing anyone.

when I was living there I heard they had some R1s in Wales too. I don't think there was any bikes near me, but there was an unmarked Impreza WRX.

I never had any trouble with the bill though, and I was always speeding, yet 4 days back in NZ and I get pulled in my car (Ngatea straight). The police are ravages here, when I left they weren't doing much at all, it was a shock to see speed prevention takes importance over crime prevention.
