Well I had never really ridden a thou or a 600 before but yesterday dover lent me his bike (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=25693). Well today boomer let me have a ride of his baby what a birthday present, all on private roads of course. Although I only got to squid it up on the straight twice and go through about 5 corners before turning around it was still a really nice experience, Its feels a lot higher than a thou and slightly smaller in the front and easier to throw around but it didn't have that same feeling of stability the K6 expelled from every orifice, and It didn't scare me as much. It got to the 200 mark easy enough. Which for me was fine any speeds over that and i'm too inexperienced to handle the jandle, its cornered like it was on rails and the brakes definitely had some grunt not quite as much as the gixxer but enough to stop ya. I was a lot more fun as you could full throttle it in 2nd without doing a dover or dislocation of shoulder from the G's generated. the power was extremely Linea and just keep coming making it not as much of a thrill but a fair bit easier to control. I can definitely see why people say get a 600 before you go near the thousands. The ride on this bike gave the inspiration to save up and get enough for a deposit on a 600. It amazing the diffrence between a 250/400 and a 600 and thou. You have to completly change your riding style it must take a few thousand k's before you can used to such power and start to tap into, either that or im just say gay scooter ride...

A great bike and for about $17k you can own one. I don't know about you but I'm in like Flinn.

good shit tex, told ya you got the bug, will be good to see you in a few months with a new licence and a new steed. Should go the route that rayza took and try to get an exemption but with the history you have now that might be a bit hard...

15 and half will get u a new 636 or RR and i hear Rayzas gixxer was even less than that.

all in all for little to no money u can get a lot of bike, wether it be a 6 a thou or even the momma 1400's...we're all winners :ride:

Yer but I would die, as much self control as I have I would die its too easy to do the 260+km/hr speeds they are capabile of. I know I would come out of a corner and give it a bit too much. The 600 is more of a pussy cat, and the power just keeps coming unlike the thou where you hit 9k and think your arms are gonna come off:pinch:

true that the 400 is great in that you can thrash it and play with the big boys in the twisties when they have to be careful about throttle application etc

600 is def for me next unless I get the likes of a v twin thou

TBQH I think he should stick with a 250..na fuck it 'Busa with turbo!!!!!!!!

Bus with turbo? I think TL rider is gonna put one on his custard... 250/400 is faster than thous through the twisties becuase of the enersha (spelling?) created by the crank its therefore a lot harder to throw around, hence 600's having faster track times than thous on smaller track. I think I may be wrong... I just found the 600 to be a nice balance.

See why I wasn't happy after riding 2 600+ bikes... made mine feel like a pushbike eh.

But you still can't have more fun around a corner than a well setup 250 or rg150/etc etc :woohoo:

I found the older ZX7R to have more guts and animal (which I like) than the new linear power k5 600... sad eh? I'll go test ride a 10r when I get my full (or possible exemption) just to put the shits up myself, kinda like what you did, but without the fines.. hopefully.

Still like the T man says a 250 in the twisties is a fair bit of fun of and nice 2mm chicken strips on the front tris you can see it is using the whole front tyre too fucking impressive...:not:
