Fuel Problem???

Hey, I've got a Kinetic GF170 (commuter bike), and near the centre stand, I noticed two pipes, one cut at an angle, and another one flat cut, I was just checking how far down the bike can lean before the pegs would get in the way, and some petrol came out of the angle-cut pipe (the pipe/tube is about 3mm in diameter), just wondering if this is a major problem (cut piping) or just something to prevent over filling? Any help would be appreciated. I will try get a picture of the problem area soon

they will be your overflow pipes, one from the fuel tank normally to drain excess fuel if you overflow the tank or like in your case, tip it too much either for maintaince or cornering, if you open the fuel cap, you will see at the back, or the part closest to your seat, a little hole, that is where the fuel will drain from.
thats the best i can guess at without seeing it though.

No they're there to stop petrol leaking out the filler cap when leaned over.

On Sunday I filled the Beemer brim full on the centre stand. Then went and parked it on the side stand. A bit later someone said " oh, look, your bike's leaking petrol". Sure enough there was quite a little puddle under it. Checked and it was just coming out the overflow tube. On the side stand it was on an angle, which made the level on one side higher than when on the centre stand. Nothing to worry about.

Another thing to remember is after filling the tank, if the bike is left in the sun the fuel can expand and leak out the overflow tube. If the fuel cap has a rubber sealing ring on the underside then it works like a radiator cap & overflow.
