Hm. turbo, USD forks , monoshock rear I think. So that's where the sprotbike designs came from.
('Tis like the dancing horse, one marvels not at it being done well, but at it being done at all.Never mind though, so long as you ahve fun on it, that's all that counts. Enjoy)

the last owner ran it at about 1 pound but he sets them up too rich....i'm going to try for 2-3 pound....
it's a 50cc
and gunna have to see tex i'm racing it in f5 buckets so should be able to keep up reasonably...even without the turbo.....

yeah could hear it whistle a bit as it wound up.....but the installer buggered up it ddn't get enough oil and blew up after 5 mins..... common quotes seem to be 400-500 +gst just to get it reconditioned

I think one per cylinder would probably blow them thru! may be I'll look at bigger ones then ;)
know of any turbo'd 150cc bikes..?? I could stick 4 of those on..

1lb boost is hardly worth mentioning :) let me know when you get to 18lb... HAHAHA, you'll be able to set some records or somesuch... then you'll have to change the cog at the back so it can get higher top speed, since you'll have such high acceleration
skidMark
7th March 2006, 09:48
if i ran 18lb through a little motor like mine i wouldn't get it out of the driveway before it blew up lol
ZeroIndex
7th March 2006, 09:50
but you'd have bragging rights :D good luck with the 2 or 3lb boost you're looking for :)

This is a perfect case study of what happens when man has too much time and too little bike.

haha, good shit mark, could make those bikes a little tastier out the back though! Does it have a blow off valve or of you have to sneaze when you change gear?
whos the guy supplying them? and what is the max boost the turbo can run?

What is the turbo off? Is it pretty laggy?
jonbuoy
7th March 2006, 16:42
Nice job! Am curious what the turbo was off too, looks nice and compact. Any hassels finding a bleed for the oil feed? Wonder if you could fit that motor into a mini moto?

BTW any of you guys seen that crazy old coot that built his own cruise missile and jet engine from an old turbo charger? Check it out, fucking funny....

C'mon someone put a pulse jet on a bike frame for a laugh - I've not the time or the money to do it!

Man thats some cool shit!!!!!!!!!!
Does it really improve the power that much or is it just for the wank factor????
either way very very cool
bugjuice
7th March 2006, 16:57
you'd literally cook with a pulsejet on a bike!!
I still can't believe something so simple, works..

belive it or not it made a hell of a difference,,,,
it's a IHI RHB31 turbo out of a daihatsu charade turbo diesel
but and IHI RHB32 spool will bolt straight in...it out of a daihatsu charade turbo petrol....
just the diesel model has a water cooling feature if you want to use it.....mine just doesn't have a water supply....
and no blow off valve...gotta find one that will go off at such low boost.....
i think the max it will do is 6-7 psi from what i can find out about it on the web
it is a custom built turbo kit done by 50/50 racing, morrin road panmure.
and as for the damage for last night....it's stuffed the gearbox output shaft to the sprocket....oooo bugger ....
**waits patiently for swanny to open his wallet**

I should get one for my bike... and also change the sprocket, so I can get to more than 115 without cooking the engine...

Read somewhere recently that a car manufacturer was planning on developing this. Can't remember where, though.
P.S. Onya, Mark.

There's some guy in the US who had enough time for his Chevy Bel-Air: http://www.lateral-g.org/sandlin/
I know it's only a car... but it does look pretty decent
PS. That's 8 turbos for 8 cylinders

730hp / 710Nm torque @ 13.5psi boost... I doubt it's that fast... It looks like a really heavy V8 thingy-ma-bob... a sport bike would thrash the hell out of that around a track... probably even in a straight line

Sorry, but all I'm trying to say is, with the right sprocket and enough boost, you could beat that v8 :D
