all this talk and idea tossing around got me thinking.
What if we got rolling with Team KB.
we now have two national level F2 riders a couple of f3 riders and a couple of 125 racers based in auckland. -not to mention the sidecar and bucket guys.
what if we actually created team KB ??
Theres economy of scale could be had here--instead of one set of tyres we are buying say 6 sets. Its gotta be better
Mind you tis but an idea

Could also solve the sponsorship issue... companies may be more interested group sponsoring six bikes rather than one.

Yep, sounds interesting...

I am starting to get into Bucket Racing (picked up first bike last night) and would be keen in being a part of anything like that. Should I deem my ability worthwile I might consider loosing some weight and moving on to bigger things.

Definitely in the right direction Frosty.

Now THAT'S a good idea!!
It sounds like a fair bit of informal co-operation is already happening but this has got some serious opportunities. It would be difficult to organise but the bulk buying power alone would make it worth the hassle. If you were prepared to standardise on oil/tyre/filter etc suppliers (in exchange for signage display) you might be able to really push the point.
I haven't been to a track day in NZ (relocating from the West Island) but do you have lap timing available? Are race bikes allowed at track days? If the answers are no and yes then the team could all standardise their receivers and lob in for just one transmitter while negotiating a group discount.
The possibilties are huge, a brainstorming session at the "Elbow Benders Arms" may be in order....

Yep - lots of them - made of lead. Gotta reduce your power-to-weight differential somehow:Pokey:

You can add one more idiot into F1 soon as well Tony, as soon as me new credit card comes through, i'll have all the bits n peices i need to race, minus a worked engine with 180bhp (anyone got one spare).

Sounds like you might be onto a bit of a plan Tony.

Ill be in F2 this season, The new bike doesnt have a paint scheme yet, but when i get it done, id be happy to get the KB decals on.
The bike is going to be a Motomart bike, So will be in the colours Motomart and i choose, But if spankme is happy with me working the graphics onto the fairings somewhere, then im happy to get them in there.

When you're ready to print contact me for a price... I have contacts (like others here) and may get a good price. :mega:

What's the file format SM? .eps, .cdr, .ai?

I would put 'Team KB' signage on my bucket without requiring sponsorship too.

I wouldn't mind joining if you would have me. Would be easier than sorting out sponsership myself :p

Where do I get my stickers and how official is this collaboration? Do I get to attend the yearly Christmas doo and enjoy free beer and food and all that other bullshit you have to do at those things, like talking to people?

ok frosty.....
at the moment i don't need anything.
BUT how would i, or anyone get this off the ground?... say for argument, i needed new chain, sprockets. or tyres...

who would we contact to put the order in. what sort of waiting time?.. follow?

would we all send them (the orders)to ..,you, ..for example , then you pass them ( the orders) onto the chosen company?
would you then have "six sets of tyres" in your garage...

Just incase it's relevant.
I will be buying a new tyre within the next few weeks. (TT900 90/80/17)
And will be continuing to promote KB with stickers/Patches on my racing gear.

If it fitted in with your plans, let me know.
