U2 has postponed their Australian and New Zealand tour dates.

The Next Adventure and Michael Coppel have announced that the final 10 dates of U2's Vertigo tour have been delayed.

"This action is unavoidable due to the illness of an immediate family member of one of the band," it was announced in a statement today.

"Any fan of U2 will realise that this decision has not been taken lightly," said TNA President Arthur Fogel. "We will announce further details as soon as we have them."

The affected shows - which are all sold out - are:

March 17 & 18: Auckland, Ericcson Stadium
March 21, Brisbane, Queensland Sports Centre
March 24 & 25, Melbourne, Telstra Dome
March 28, Adelaide, AAMI Stadium
March 31 & April 1, Sydney, Telstra Stadium
April 4, Yokohama, Nissan Stadium
April 8, Honolulu, Aloha Stadium

I have heard they are re-schedueling for october/november, all over-time for staff at the stadium has been cancelled. Now, for anyone coming up on the friday, remember its St. Paddies day (the sense of irony is not lost on me, although what is actually ironic escapes me) come and get pissed with the Irish in the bog in parnell, well maybe not all of you, its a small enough pub, maybe some of youse could go to pog mahones in ponsonby and the rest can cry into your pints at my house!!!!

Don't forget that you can still claim back any taxes etc, it's only the actual ticket price that they can hang onto, prolly not much for domestic flights but...

This is true - however, I am in the mids of organising a kick ass st Paddy's day shindig in Auckland so may need the plane to get up there in time.

The Rock was asking people who has lost the most from this and I feel sorry for the people with tickets to the gigs in ostralia that have an expensive holiday now with no concert.

Perhaps some wonderful bikers would partake in a scenic tour of the Coro loop instead, perhaps???:ride:

The tickets would want to be transferable to the next concert. If they weren't, anyone that purchased tickets at the scalpers prices, would be spewin'.

They interviewed the Consumers Institute guy (name escapes) last night and he said that legally ticket holders should be able to claim non-refundable flights from the event promoters, let along the tickets themselves.

for those with air NZ tickets i think i say on the news they will change your flight dates for no cost if you mention U2.

I feel sorry for all those who paid crazy money on trademe for over priced ticket from evil scalpers
