Well Well Well...
I RODE THE GIXXER!!
Upon nearly seating myself on the Kwaka 2-fidddy Dad (Gixer 4 ever) made a brief comment asking if i wanted to take the gixxer to school instead.:gob:
Turns out he was being serious:yes:
Well as you can probably guess it didnt take me all that long to get inside and swap sets of keys.
An extremely good start to a great day.
Ride in to town went extremely well (about a half hour) and return trip was just as great:2thumbsup:.
All i want now is to own one!
Only regrets are that it will be quite some time before i can actually ride one um.. legally..., so it's back to the 250:bye:
ohwell, It'll be 4 wheels tomorrow, wish me luck for my full cage license.:blip:
P.S. MSTRS, I wonder if hXc has got any ideas from this? Hmmm.....:innocent:

The story behind this is a good one. 3 months ago the school, SP (Speights_Bud ) is at decided to join a work experience thingy. One day a week at work of your choice. 7th formers only.SP wanted to work at a specific engineering shop in Napier. Asked the lady who is paid to organise the work to call them This lady will be referred to as SB from here in. (silly Bitch ) SB never called them. 2 months went by and SB got a heavy engineering job sorted for SP. Not what he wanted. A good job I am sure but SP has driven tractors and welded big steel etc for me. So after that he went to the engineering company and asked to see the boss and introduced himself and told them what he wanted. They called the SB from the school and she in turn called SP and the job was on. ( was a lot longer than this but who wants to read that much )
So anyone motivated enough to go after what they wanted and gets it, deserves some good stuff in life.
Good on you SP.:2thumbsup
Might not happen again:Oi:

The driveway wasn't too bad actually, ya get a bit used to going up and down it regularly expecting the front wheel to dissapear into a pothole or similar...
I'm gonna miss the not having to change down to overtake cages:( , the gixxer's distinct buzzing, the paintwork sparkling in the student carpark casting shadows over the likes of scooters and gn250's, and let's not forget the awesomely Chicken-strip free pre-thrashed tyre that all the students and teachers admired so much...
arrhhh Anyone wanna swap an 87' GPX250 for a GXSR250? :wavey:
I think i should go to bed, i've got alot of dreaming to do...

Good luck on the full. Although I doubt that you will need any - don't think luck has anything to do with it. Skillz lad :Punk:
hXc 'mentioned' your exploits & stated that the thought of getting on the 1100 causes testicular retraction :shit: & premature greying, as well as tachychardia. He's a sensible lad:love:

That's why I ride the smaller 750 John. So I can putt along and enjoy the ride. You keen on the Elephant run? I am taking the slower riders early. Good ride for hXc and younatart. I will stick to the 90-100km speed.

Nothing wrong with showing a bike the red, that's what they were made for. So long as it was always done while she's warm, and she's taken care of mechanically...possibly better than being a nana who never takes it past 5k rpm, but I wouldn't really know, not a mechanic.

I have a feeling, by the time you are thinking of parting with it, someone would have given him a ride on a gix1000 or similar, then the goals will be even higher.
God forbid, he gets to test a big powerful twin and converts to "the dark side"

Funny you should say that cos I think that will be my next move. Got to love Morepowers TL. We did a great trip away for Paeroa this year and that thing is a rocket on wheels. Tyres will keep you broke but Dave is trying the new Sparda (sp) and we did 1150km on that trip and it looked good after the hard riding. I believe you are looking to get one at some time soon? That will give the SS somthin to chase.

the ss has to chase my 400! have the uncanny ability to leave him for dead when corners are involved. I have done prob bout a thousand kms on tl's 500 on a 97 tl1000s and 500 on a 98 1000s.
I need to get a '97 (like dave's) asap! Would have one by now but i dug into the savings a bit too deeply over the last month or so, and i dnt want to fall back into the debt trap. And then there is the missis, she wants to upgrade form the gn, TO A ZX9R!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just love big twins, the gs12 is fun for wheelstands, but handles like a cunt full of cold water

Now this is true. Don't want to start the thread again as there are plenty on this subject here but when we went away with a mate, 2 years ago, we proved you can not run bikes in slowly. This bike had 200km on it when we left Napier. Went up the coast and stayed in Tauranga for the night. I went for a walk in da morning cos I wanted to go but others were asleep. When I came back the car park was full of blue smoke and I could see the new bike pumping it out. I ran over and switched it off cos it was oil smoke. Apparently that's what the shop told him to do. Leave it run for 5 minutes before you go out. Anyway the long and short of this was one of our other bikes broke down and we left it behind and another mate put the owner of the new bike on the back of it and we headed for home at a good pace. Two up and a warm engine working in all the rev range with a good bit of variation was what it needed. Never smoked again. If it had not had that run the rings would have glazed the bore and it would have smoked for years..

good on you for givin him a thrash though, 4cycl bikes may not be my cup of tea, but for years i have been given bloody flash bikes by various people to take for a thrash, the only way to get a real feel for what youlike. Myultimate bike at the moment is a ducati 996, my god thats a lota bike, just the $18000 thats stoping me...

You will have it in no time. Go Sam. :niceone: ZX9R
I rode an SS and it was great low down but when I was out of town and wanted to give it some juice I was disappointed with the power over 7K. That's when the gixxer comes alive but the SS just went flat. I believe the cams from the 1100 with pick it up in that area but then you have to get it round the corner. Mind you I am getting older now and the road racing can stay for you young fellas. Oh and Felleses. ZX9R and the likes. But the SS is not all bad. Lota bike for the money.
Might be the rider more than the 400's ability me thinks:rolleyes:
You going bucketing tomorrow?

The 4's are great up in the top end rev range. This one is very responsive at the top end and if you know the road it will give you a buzz. But I do feel the twin calling from, way off.
Yep the 18000 $$ is a lot.

nah, taking a break from racing. Gettn a bit bored with it, getting into stunting more at the moment (asking for broken bones/plastic). Cant afford to do everything and save for a tl...
Will probly turn up next month. Can you tell Simon, the reason the pocket bikers stopped turning up is our track is too harsh on their frames, so they all joined the Karting club and use their track now.
What can i say, i know my GB's inside out, without blowing my own horn, im bloody hardto catch on winding roads like Whakapirau rd, Raukawa rd, Valley rd, Argyle rd and Te onepu rd. I learned to ride out there and know every pothole in those roads, have suprised more than a few sprotsbikes up there.
Oh yeah, sorry to hijack your thread Speights.... wasnt intentional

Well yes, if you actually got to race it would be better. I don't think Patrick has raced since he paid his money for the licence. Yep you better to save for the TL.
Stunting would be fun and you can do it any time.
