I'd like to make a point of a dangerous piece of road I found in the heart of central Auckland, I took these photo's to demonstrate the danger (even when traveling at the speed limit) when traversing this alley. please be careful if you use it as there is no warning of any dangerous bumps!
edit: oh yes and here is a video of it taken to show how NOT to take this alley (not as high)

By the way there are a few spots on the Clevedon - Kaiaua twisties too where you can get some air.

I really enjoyed the air time there.
Also the 'Old tauranga road' behind waihi is a classic - but fucking leathal if you time it wrong.

:devil2: Ever tried the Kawakawa bridges at the speed limitx2?
The Moerewa end bridge is insane!! Flew through the air 30m and landed on my back wheel and carried on...if only I did it on purpose eh?
Should of seen the size of the dudes eyes that was driving towards me!
Looked like he'd been on the upside down b for a week! :eek5::shit:

There are 2 very deceptive humps on a backroad near Inglewood. It's always a popular viewing spot on the targa rally with near guaranteed expensive repercussions. My first time on the bike I mis read them hitting the first near 200 remaining airborne for what seemed like 5 seconds then bottoming out the suspension & grinding the headers on the road. I slowed considerably for the second & still nearly left skids between me and the seat.

i've had the R6 off the ground at 2xx something... but was more than two hundy, went over a bridge, front wheel came up about 45degrees, flew through the air, landed and had a tank slapper stopped by the steering damper... and that was only the test ride :sweatdrop

LOL, you to huh? I did it by acco on the Mcleans Is rd out back of Chch over a stop bank a few years ago on they oll hot rodded CX.... christ knows what I was thinking but instead of slowing I opend the taps up :weird:
Tell ya what it was the most perfect stint a air time possible Evel would have been prowd of me, landed to the side of the rd and carried on riding went bout 2 k's up the rd before I pulled over... and thought WTF did I just do:pinch:

how fast do you reckon i have to go over the harbour bridge to get air?
when heading north on the left hand clipon its not quite smooth....
another place to get air in town is the bit by auckland central police station, as you head toward the motorway, if i accelerate at 75% i'll be doing 40kmh after crossing the intersection and get hte front wheel up as it goes down the hill... thats fun in the afternoon after lectures... again time it wrong and you'll get a courier van pull out in front of you. Only done it once, and probably wont again..... tui anyone

Oh dear . Thank you for the timely warning Mr Pyrocam. I shall contact the appropriate authorities at the City Council tomorrow, and ensure that suitable measures are taken to prevent motorcyclists accidentally using that alley, to their hazard. Most mature and responsible of you to warn people of such unwanted hazards, and at some personal risk to you and your machine, too. Well done.

As JSG said corro loop there is a nice bump and one on the way back, before a corner, got a decent shock there too. And one just as you enter clevedon from beachlands end along the pohu coast.
I heard these things from a friend. Ghost rider 10

there's 3 hump-back bridges on SH1 heading really far north.. just after the Bay of Islands split. You go thru a nice quaint little town (with a train line thru the middle), then you head out of the town. There's a 1km straight with one rounded hump, then a flat top round hump, then another rounded hump, and plenty of space for a run up and fuck up either way.. I did it in the car, that was fun. On a bike, I'd be scared of getting it really really wrong

That's the Kawakawa Bridges I mentioned above mate but it sounds like you've come from the Kawakawa end not the Moerewa end.
Yep I nearly got it 100% wrong...at least it looked styley :sherlock:

I've got no idea what the place is called, I'd have to take your word for it!!
And yeah, it looks easy to get carried away! I managed to get the car light on the first one, then tried harder on the second which didn't work, cos it levels in the middle, so tried harder on the third, and made all the camping gear fly all over the place, and the car bottomed out on the other side! Great fun..

Hahaha...yep that's them thar bridges! I got my Commodore literally crossed up over the third and about 10m worth of flight!
Oh I remember when....:wait:

Of course a friend told me, I'm to scared to go on rides as I'm the world's slowest Indian and these fast bikers scare me :eek5:
---------------
By the way the same friend also told me, if you set up your bike to be very twitchy by say dropping the triple clamps and using stiffer fork oil:wacko: You may tend to get tank slappers quite regularly upon landing. (you may not if you have a damper ;))

Sh22 used to have heaps, but alas they have *fixed* most of them, still get air coming off most of the bridges though

Used to be able to get air on all the bridges on the Miranda/Kaiawa coast road...I must be going slower these days, because it doesn't happen anymore.I've also had air on the rebound after bottoming on the down side over the Neilson St bridge in Onehunga. Can't do Church St anymore...can't do Liverpool St anymore - all the fun roads get turned into boring roads.
And you know why...people complain.

I used to jump that little bump almost every night on the way home from work for like a year and a half (given I worked next door and parked at the bottom of it). Started getting some pretty good air on the RS125. Was good for a laugh anyway! :shifty:

I seem to get air in my car sometimes only going about the 70k speed limit going into dannemora from smales road perpendicular to Te Irirangi drive as I cross the Chapel road intersection.
As shown in the map not particularly dangerous unless you get some red light runners, but you've got good visibility both ways as you cross the intersection. Might have to try it on the scoot some time soon.

Good fun - When you blokes get older, grow up, and can afford to be really immature - get a Buell XB12X.
I do that stuff over every Judder bar, speed hump, chicane and gutter now.

OHHHHh I did but If I was to take a guess how much air.... there be a few here that dont know were we are talking about and call me a lying guzzi loveing freak.
It wasent so much the distance but the height... went of to the side as the rd bends slightly thats why I landed in the gravel on the side of the rd... man it was perfect, couldnt do it again in a million years if i tried :niceone:
