View Full Version : Goodbye old friend
Uncle B

Bernie our 18 year old cat sadly passed away today.
You were always there waiting at the gate when we came home from work.
You nagged us until you were fed.
You hogged the heater when it was cold.
You took up what seemed like the whole bed at night.
You defended your territory against strays till the very end.
Your soft purr would sooth the worries away.
You were a proud and dignified bugger.
He finally lost the battle through ill health but stayed strong for so long.
Bernie
Goodbye old friend
You will be so missed
RIP

Sorry Uncle B...I know it's a cliche to say this, but it seems he had a bloody good, long life at least. (& sounds like he was a top notch feline.)

Glad I got to meet the little fella before he shuffled off this mortal coil. I can genuinely say my life is better for meeting him. Nice to find a cat that didn't scratch me.

They come into your life, turn everything up-side down, ensure thay get cursed at, whine for food every 5 minutes - accursed animals. How dare they become so much of your family?
Good bye, Bernie - good innings.

Sorry to hear that Bruce.
It's a sad fact that I miss some of my deceased animal friends more than some of my human ones. The buggers get to ya.
Cheers

My heart goes out to you, I lost my boy 3 years ago at the same age. He was nasty, hated kids, swipped for no reason. I loved that cat, still miss him terribly.

There was a tear in my eye when we buried Num Num. When the girls were little the family would go for a walk and she would follow us like a dog.
Silll miss her.................and Blackie her daughter.
Sorry to hear 'Bernie' has gone.

Our little cat was 18 too. Didn't think I would miss her as much as I do.
I have forwarded your address to the Ginger cat around here that is looking for an opening. Cheers John.

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.
Anyone who cuddles and purrs and lets you love them and doesn't talk back can't help but find a place in your heart.. but sometimes losing someone is a very important part of the experience they bring to your life.. they keep on teaching and molding you even after they're gone.
Bernie sounds like he was way cool. :)
Really sorry to hear this Bruce.
I had my Ronnie for over 20 years. I still miss him, even though it's coming up four years since he passed on.
