Velox and I are heading to Auck for a blast on Saturday and thought it would be good to meet up with some KBers and head back to Welly via SH22 on Sunday.
We were thinking of having breakie first somewhere first, and then head from there. We/I will be staying very near Western Springs (New Lynn I think) so somewhere close to there would be good...I guess we would like to be leaving Aucks/breakfast around 11am.
Whos keen? Can anyone suggest somewhere that we could meet (preferably somewhere easy to find)?
this is going to suck if no-one replies

Yep Quasi, sounds good. Leaving Welly at 9am, so a relaxed day might sound like 4ish in the 'Tron..
We'll be going up through Taumaranui and onto Otorohanga and SH39 (I think). Guess we have to spot the turn off from there.

Hey guys, have a great trip. You may pass us along the way somewheres, but then again you'll probably be going a different route to us. We're heading up to Hawera to collect my bike tomorrow morning, with my brand new Ohlins shock installed. Think we may be going in the car, so if you fly past a silver mazda with a PHL0YD number plate with pink surround, give us a beep! :spudwave: Have fun and ride safe.

Good stuff. Watch out for a loud CBR600RR, blue helmet, fierce crazy eyes, Black Hornet, Yellow Helmetted RVF400 rider.
Give us a toot to wake V up. Will be heading up Paraparas.

This weather better get better - I know it's meant to in theory. Anyone else that's keen to come for any of the trip flick me a pm or a text if you know my number. Or Skelstar's cause it's on here.
Quasi - it'll be good to see ya mate - we'll text you when we're near.
Gareth - come to brekkie! Or you could just sort out a big fry up and we'll eat all your food instead.
SPB - you better come and say hi mate!

:eyepoke:
Btw - we need suggestions of where to meet up cause we don't know Orkland. There's those greasy places at the side of the motorway (Autobarn? and the 'cafes' beside them) but do people actually eat the food there or is it kind of disturbing?

Yep, there are 2, only a few KM's apart. Papakura Auto bhan and Bombay Auto Bhan. The papakura Auto Bhan is the most popular one so I say just go with that if you want.
I'll most prolly come along to be one of the guides.

I'd follow you if you drove a double decker bus, but a Pajero, you'd have to stop every three corners or so to let me catch up!

My mate works at Atlas Cafe at Ponsonby, not very far away from where you are staying. Will be happy to meet you somewhere around western springs before leading u there for breakfast.

Sounds good. Where exactly is it (she says looking at a map)? I'm staying in Mt Eden and I'll find Ponsonby easy enough but if anyone sees a black cbr sitting at the side of the road staring back down the motorway I'm lost.

If anyone is travelling down SH1 between manukau and Autobarn, and knows how to pick up a brake lever while doing 100kmh, can you please put the lever in the post and send it to me.
On the plus side, I learnt more about foot braking control on my way home to kumeu.
Have a good ride guys. Oh and isnt it funny how limbimtimwim's bike had trouble yesterday.... a conspiracy methinks....

Zapf - cheers for leading us down there. Good to catch up again!
SPman - yeah there were heaps of bikes out on Sun eh! Heaps! I assume lots were on the same ride as you then (toy run).
SPB - real good to meet you mate!
Strat - yep as Zapf said, good to hear you're still alive. Stink you couldn't
make it but no front brake on 22 mightn't be ideal.
Motoracer - slacker!:bleh:
I better go read the ride report now.....
