Did something a little bit different today,

a small group of very good riders and mates meet at Caltex Bombay:sunny:
Once assembled they departed,:ride: Heading for the "Coro Loop " I guess they had a good time, Mrs F/F and I drove the FC support van to a secret location and set up some food and cold drinks.
when they arrived at Waioumu for lunch the smile's on their face's said it all, glad you guys had a good safe ride, am looking forward to hearing all about the ride.
thanks for making Glens first proper ride a good one.

Let me first of all say a BIG thankyou to you & Mrs F/F Dave, you did a wonderful thing today! Well organised with tent, deck chairs, gas bbq, a table full of food, and nice coffee to boot. You picked a great spot for it too!!
So we all (10+) turned up at our meeting place at 9.30am, and to my shock horror Firefight was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, so i thought that could only mean one thing - he's not riding, which was the case as he had setting up to do, etc for the bbq...needless to say several of us, if not all, were disappointed that you couldn't ride with us. ;)
Before we left for the Loop we had a surprise visit by Dover, Tristan, and Texmo who were off to see WINJA of all people!! So we got some entertainment seeing Tex nearly loop his scoot again, and MR having some practise finding balance point on the scoot, which he did...so then F/C headed off, was a great ride as usual down to Kopu where we gassed up and headed anti-clockwise over the Kopu-Hikuai's, which had heavy roadworks on it today and got our bikes covered in wet mud arggh!! (took me well over an hour to clean it when i got home :sweatdrop )
I'm always impressed by the roads on the east side of the peninnsula, a fantastic mixture of tight twisties and flowing sweepers keeps one on the edge of their seat and thoroughly entertained, no time to get a sore butt! Top marks to the road from the base of Kopu-Hikuai's to Tairua, and from Whitianga to Coromandel township!! Felt quite in my groove today up and over the Coro hill, more so than i have the last fews weeks doing it.
Kept in touch with Dave by texts and sent him a final one from Coro, where we met Loosebruce at the servo. He mentioned that he had been rding with the other KB group organised ride by kiwifruit. I was gonna go over and say hi to y'all while you were having lunch, especially wanted to meet Aaron Slight, but we had an appointment about 40kms south so we had to get away.
Was a good ride over to Waioumu where we were greeted by F/F on the roadside and given directions to the luncheon. Was good to spend the next hour with friendly familiar faces/riders, and have a great feed & rest surrounded by such beautiful scenery, made my day! :sunny:
After we finsihed riding the Loop we headed back via Kaiaua/Kawakawa Bay route which was a good choice, 4 of us ended stopping at Clevedon for a refreshment before heading our separate ways.
Great way to celebrate getting legal again Glen, you did well on the heavy TL 2day, just wait till that K5 comes along cos it'll knock your socks off!

Big ups to F/F and Mrs F/F for organising the lunch for us!! Food was great and we really appreiciate your time and effort, just so that we could have a beautiful lunch together!
Congrats on getting your licence back SM! Looks like you were more than eager to get right back into it after a long awaited period. Fuck you were flying out there today!
Also, it's been a while since I last rode with VeeTwinRaver and Paco. Shit I had no idea how much faster you guys had become. Maybe the south Island trip hardened you blokes up cuz your pace was shit hot today! Well done guys.
The ride today was absolutly perfect! Awesome company, great weather, great roads... What more could I have asked for? It was great to catch up with you guys again, see you on the next FC ride in the near future.
Fight Club rides rule!!!! Fuck yea!! :headbang::headbang:

Cheers man, I think you'll do just fine keeping up with me... After a big massive weight reduction from the mamoth TLR to your new ........., you'll be even quicker than you already are!!Can't wait for our next ride when both of us will be on new bikes.

Was bloody good to catch all you's up, i didn't know you were headn out that way and my decison to ride was at about 1am on Saturday morning, putting the forks and front wheel back in going to bed at 3am and waking up early, the only ride i knew off out coro way was KF's one, was a mint ride over the coro hill to the coast, the coast never really like that bit of road very much.
Dave big ups for the BBQ, i thought you said i hope you fella's are hungry coz there's heaps of food, i went up for seconds only to find 1 bit of steak left, next time i know you'll get it right :dodge:
Good to catch ya all's again, Paco, Mal, Randy, Kit etc etc that homo on the CBR600, Zed, wheelies looking mint mate.
Till next time guys.

yeah, I was behind Zed a few times when the front came up.. best one that sticks in my head, is heading into on of the forestry bits just after fitianga, going over a long crest and Zed wheelies the whole thing at a good pace and picking up more. Completes the whole crest and drops it on the other side.. nice work :niceone:
I've gotta get me a litre bike for fast wheelies like that..
Highlight of the ride (which is hard, cos the whole thing was awesome), must have been going thru the twisties, and following the black lines every bike was putting down thru and out of the corners.. and knowing that I was keeping an ever so slightly slower pace..

Very sexy looking too! ;)
Well thank's. I've been watching what I ate lately and I think I've gone down 1 size on my waist.
Or it could be the cream that I use for my face. It's a bit oily around the cheeks at times, I know.
Perhaps you're talking about my new hairdo instead?
Now where are the big pics?

Have only just been made aware of this thread.............
Thanks chaps for what was yet another memorable day. As has already been said, bike was trashed with mud & slush after crappy road works, very disappointing considering I had only just put it all back together after its massive grooming job after its South Island jaunt......outside of that I really enjoyed the roads and the company that is EFC.
SM - glad you enjoyed your day - seemed to me you got back into the groove of things pretty damn well.
MR - good to see you out there again - can't wait to see you on the R6
FF & Mrs FF - As selfless as ever - great lunch thank you very much - you could be onto a great business idea there - catering for KB Rides or any rides really.....
Saslex - Long time no see and good to catch up.......
Matt - nice wheels & good to see you again.
Bruce - Hope that thing will hold together mate...........
BJ - nice to meet you again and to spend some time riding with you
BD - good pics, nice to meet you.
Marmoot - nice wheels buddy..........I'd say I might consider one but Pac would be horrified.........
Pac - ........would you consider the cha cha

Matt - nice wheels & good to see you again.Ditto Mal, I don't think we've done a decent ride together since your VTR1000 days, so I was quite impressed with the pace you and Paco were keeping up the front, outstanding! And I got so jealous of all Paco's mods on his sexy R1 that I went out and bought/fitted a near new Ohlins damper and Micron stainless oval can yesterday, spoiled myself rotten in other words hehe. Check out some fresh pics here (http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~mgnock/ohlins%20damper.jpg)& here (http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~mgnock/pitt%20stand%20with%20can.jpg).
Until next time guys. :Punk:
