I know this has been done before, but...
I picked my bike up from the bike shop today after getting just my fork seals done, and the labour charge alone was $112!! Is this acceptable? It seems bloody steep to me, or have inflation rates just been creeping up?

sounds bloody cheap to me - thats 2 hrs labour to strip the front end and replace the seals and put it back together...on most bikes it's a hell of a job.

Your lucky I didn't do it,The job is easy but it means pulling most of the front end apart. Two hours is probably about average. You could shop around for the cheapest labour rates but that might also get you a CHEAP job.
There is a shop in Auckland that only charges $40 an hour but I sure wouldn't take my bike anywere near them.Buy a manual and next time do it yourself.
It's really not that difficult.

I just bought a GSXR 250 for 400 dollars. Good deal I think. The fork seals need replacing but i thought i could do it myself. Im in japan at the moment and finding a manual is very difficult. Im mechanically minded but havent realy touched bikes before. I really need a guide to follow so i dont f@#$ up to badly. labour here is expensive which is why i think i got it so cheap. Any help would be apreciated.
thanks
