what is wrong with some people??? just because your on a ride together doesn't mean you have to be holding each others cocks... anyway what happened was, i was coming up to a round about, look right (clear), look straight (clear), look left, oh all right a HD is going through, thats fine, oh theres another one coming along, but that ok, i've got right of way so i carry on to go through, now this dipshit, brakes so i assume he's stopping and then obviously not wanting to be more than 10m behind his mate - :buggerd: hesitates, then proceeds to cane it through straight in front of me, fucked if i know how i missed him, slammed on the brakes, missed his back wheel by about half a metre, oh and did i mention i'm the bad guy cause i was in the cage :slap: gave him a few decent horn blasts to wake the silly bugger up :eyepoke:

I suspect that HD riders are no worse than Honda riders or Yamaha riders ( everyone is worse than Suzuki riders), but that the idiots are just soooooooo much more visible, what with their tassles and big noisy exhausts and assorted biker bling......but it's just so much FUN to grizzle about em..specially when a wee mob passes you on a straight then brakes hard in the middle of a nice sweeping right hander......

What did the first rider do wrong?
Guilt by association? As in all sprotbike riders are speeding loonies who bait the cops?
Ah OK, I'll think of a better comparison then.

So is he a wank because he is riding a harley or because he was riding like a dickshit? And the question is out there begging to be asked.....do sportsbike riders not do this as well?..and as previously said..up the inside of a left hander at times? undertaking cages?
Seems like the guy was riding like a dick and happened to be on a Harley but could have just as easily been on a sportsbike doing the same...but then that would have been ok for some of the forum participants here...:devil2:

Nah, the one thing on a H-D that is tops is its side-stand - true!
Never need bits of wood or cans under the stand on a H-D when you prak on grass.
Somehow all the 'imitation' H-Ds have always failed to duplicate that:scratch:
And H-Ds ARE entertainment just by being there:yeah:

As for comfort, (and the above too) exactly how many km HAVE you ridden on any H-D? :spudwhat: :wait:
(And BTW I'm not the type to throw a bike around too much on the twisty bits but my tyres are still worn right around to the edge of the shoulders - for what it's worth)
So enjoy what you ride and how you ride it!!:woohoo:

went o wellington on an 883 sportster and i fucken hated it, i even got to ride it and it just wasnt my kind of thing so im going to be a twat and discriminate against hareleys. but if you like the side stand thats ok.
:baby: it was vibey and to upright and those bloody pegs are like attracted to the ground and the brakes were sortof ok, a wee bit better at hauling up than my gn, but i geuss that was the weight. i must admit i was impressed by how easy it was to ride

My wife had a Harley with the worst sidestand I've ever seen - it had a spear point on the end.Parking on grass was out of the question, and even on hot tarseal it would just sink through and dump the bike on it's side.Bloody crazy idea for a trail bike!

Criticising Harleys for not being sprotbikes says more about the critic than the bike.
If I had to cover 1500 k's in a day I'd rather have an Ultra than any sprotbike.

i have a severely damaged spine and fucked nerves, i find an upright position extremely painfull and sitting in a cage also gives my alot of pain just by how im siting, but on a sporty bike with low bars/clipons i dont have these problems as my arms/wrists and hips take the pressure of my spine:cool:

and i would rather do it on a sportsbike, its a personal preferenceHahahahahaha, now you're showing your (lack of) age. You'll be regretting that decision well after the cruisers have well, cruised... You definitely have to ride some more bikes before making that judgement. After a few big jaunts you'll have well lost your desire for pose on long trips. Sportsbikes have a place, but chewing up 1000km in a day sure ain't it.

I like all bikes and have even done a bit of riding on a Harley and I didn't find the experience remarkable at all. In fact after my own bikes it felt very lazy and clumsy and the price tag was rediculous for such old technology covered up with chrome. So I wouldn't spend my money on one at all and it didn't seem any more comfortable than anything else I had ridden.
