has anybody been stung or know of anybody who has been ticketed for this?

Nearly 130 infringement notices have been issued by police in the first month of new laws targeting noisy vehicles.

The Land Transport Act changes took effect on January 16.

By February 16, police across the country had issued 129 offence notices, accompanied by fines worth more than $32,000

The Waikato District recorded the most offences at 38, the Canterbury District was next with 24.

Collectively the Auckland, North Shore, and Counties Manukau Police Districts issued only 10 offence notices

Farken hell, makes me worry about the noise my bike makes without the air horns. Anyone know if us two stroke owners might get into any strife?...

Might have to move back out west. I know I never got ticketed for the 250s noise, despite all of my best efforts

Well Ive been lucky so far, think it comes down to the cop at the time
if your racing around like a idiot from one set of lights to the next your going to attract attention to your self. The yoshi's I have on the firestom are quite loud
but the sound is non offensive I don't think, maybe at 3am in the morning yea.

Thats exactly right, they dont want to spend the money on decent testing equipment but dont find any problem taking the money from our wallets for fines! Typical revenue collection bullshit. :motu:

I would say my ZXR is pretty damn loud - I've yet to hear another 250 that is louder. Despite this I've never had any problems with cops, but then again, it's all about time and place. If you gonna open it up hard on a Friday night down Queen street ringing it's nuts off to get to 50KPH as fast as you can, then you are gonna get a ticket.

Then again, my bike may be loud, but it's loud in the way it sounds like a giant sewing machine on P.

I hope the cops sit down my street and ticket the wankers who wake me up when I fall asleep in my armchair of an evening, the bastards.

Nothing worse than some Mazda Famila shit box making a whole heap of useless noise

Yea its the total shit heaps, 1.6L cars etc that were made for doing shopping, that are begin driven around with hardly no muffler "barking" along everyones street that piss everyone off...

Every tosser with an excessivley noisy used Japanese car, from as far afield as Levin and Dannevirke, converge at the end of my street in Lower Hutt.

I say give the little fuckers an infringement notice, and impound their little wankmobiles for 28 days.

I am extremely biased. I enjoy my sleep.:zzzz: :zzzz: :zzzz: :zzzz: :zzzz:

My 1100 has a relatively loud 4 into 1. Sounds nice from inside my helmet.

Their increased powers all come under that Vote Winning slogan ENHANCED ENFORCEMENT. Sounds great to those that don't know just exactly what it means. We have been :buggerd:

I think all "boy racer looking car" should be illegal... Now I wonder how they would go about inforcing that one... The f*#%^ng pigs would probably pull over all the old ladies in corollas and let the f$&%ng boy racers drive around in their corollas that don't look like corollas anymore. f$&#%^ng pigs.

*yawns* This has all been done before... Basically they can't really give you a ticket due to discretion because of the varience in thier hearing ability. It's like saying... well he looked like he might have been going 120 so i'll ticket him for that. There has to be proof before you can get done. Take em to court. If you look up the official testing method you'll find it takes a hell of a lot more that a simple dB meter as well.

If they try ping me i'd probably take them to court, got an acoustic engineer mate and he finds it all a lark. Waiting for him to post on here though.

Once again aff you are quite wrong !!!!

They can and will due to the new Boy Racer act which has given police the right to evaluate the noise of a vehicle at the road side with no test instruments whatsoever!

And I know what CK will say, the new law is a big bunch of arse!

from what i figure, the police must love pursuits. If you see flashing lights and you have a gut feeling that its you they are after, chances are with all the anti motorist laws about now, your in trouble. So no wonder so many people decide to give it a go and try doing a runner.

true...... But I didn't say they won't give you a ticket... I said itwouldn't stand up in court being such a PC country and all... Hell you could go past 10 cops and the 11th pulls you over cause he has had a bad day. Something seems fishy in that way of thinking.

Its one of the great new GREY laws, in that it can be interpretted a thousand different ways by a hunred cops of ten different days go figure

There was a piece on a woman in Tauranga who repeatedly got green stickered for noise even though she went back and flew through WOFs the cops kept green stickering her as they have no clue over the actual WOF reqs etc as they haven't done the training they just hand out the tickets like the little tax robots they are

We have a bandit 600 with a slip on kerker pipe, lets just say you can hear this bike from 3km's away and that is when you are cruising, its quieter when you are reving the crap out of it. But in the mid range is when is it at his loudest, and this pipe i would say is really to loud, but its mother in laws bike only gets riden maybe once a month
