hey everybody, ive got a 2001 yamaha yz80 and need to no about tuning it.
also is there a way to tune the powerband in this thing as is almost uncontrolable when it comes in, the bike is boggy and sluggish then all of a sudden its a rocket when the powerband comes in.
the bike is ridden by a 12yo that handels it ok but its used for trail riding in the woods, along the power lines trail and when the powerband kicks in it comes out from under him...
any ideas on what i need to do to make it more controable?
thanks guys

The first thing you can do is fit a flywheel wieght. Next look up on the internet Eric Gorr. on his web site he will give very detailed instructions about your bike.

If you cant find them Email me and I will send you a scanned copy

i agree a flywheel wieghtwill smooth out the power delivery. to change the power delivery u can also use a differant chamber that gives it more low down power and change the pv springs

FMF is the best for off-road biased stuff like de-tuning a MX bike. FMF is also used by all the pro's like Barry Hawk, Ty Davis etc..
