To everybody: I need your help! I took my vfr400 (nc24) to a garage to get a new wof. I did many things on the bike and was proud of it. everything was ok, in fact, BUT for the fact that i didn't have the passenger footrests. I never have any passenger, so i never needed them. when i bought the bike, there was only the left hand side one (that i took off, of course!). So...the problem now is that I need the r/h side one, otherwise I can't get the WOF!!! I couldn't find the part till now. Do you know anyone in auckland with the same bike so i can borrow the piece for few minutes (just the time to go to the stupid guy and get the warrant...)???
Thanks, any help is appreciated!

Thanks, any help is appreciated! The WOF manual says under "reasons for rejection" :
"Mandatory equipment
1. A motorcycle is not fitted with adequate footrests:
a) for the rider, or
b) for the pillion passenger where there is a pillion
passenger seating position."
So... Disable that rear seat somehow. See if you can find someone to make you a bit of plastic to cover the vinyl of the seat.

Into whatever hole the original ones went in (or the hole their mounting bracket was attached to). Originals must have been bolted on somehow. Just stick a long bolt in there, sticking out, with bit of hose over it. Doesn't actually have to be comfortable for a pillion, or even usable, just have something that you can claim is a "footrest" .

Seat cover, dead sexy and no pillions allowed :) Google for 'nc30 rear seat cover', should be able to import something pretty smartly.
Alternative plan..... get another rear seat, rip all of the fabric off, leaving only the plastic bit. Get some fibre filler/bog/fibreglass mat (whatever you like and can work with). 'Bog it up', sand it back, primer, paint. Instant single seat cover. If you were in Chch I'd show ya how, but it really is that simple.

Go single seater for the WoF. A replacement seat with a cover on it and take the existing peg off and you're sweet.
