Hey,
I never heard of the Lifan Vortex until about 5 minutes ago. Im looking to buy an FXR but these seem to be very similar. I was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between these bikes and what they would reccommend? Thanks so much!

Just anything you could tell me about the Lifan Vortex that would be awesome. Like what engines in it? or where it was made? umm anything :Punk:

the lifan looks like a cheap, shitty ripoff of the FXR at first glance.

Speaking of which, where does one go to get some nice sticky ones?
Also is this the Lifan you're talking about?

Someone said what about a 250cc. Nah, would rather stick to a 150cc as i have always only had dual purpose bikes. So havent really riden a road bike much. Also mum wouldnt let me get bigger than a 150cc. hahaha she already made me sell my last bike cos "its too dangerous" <_< hmmpff! haha. but i need something to get to and from training a work and my parents live in Wellington and i was whinging about having to pushbike every where, so thats the only reason im allowed one! but im suck a sweet talker  :msn-wink: hehe

She's a nice looking thing but i cant say ive heard anything about them before..
random google search turned up:
"The “Vortex” is a 150cc, four stroke, Street bike, disc brakes, electric start. Capable of approximately 95 Kph with the standard gearing. ... "
FXRs will do a lot more than 95kph for a start, but it depends if you do any motorway/open road travel. And parts are easy to find for them should you ever need some. But then i ride one so any comments i make may be just a little biased...

have you ever actually tried to get parts for your fxr?? they aren't actually as 'readily available' as you might think, and if you can get second hand parts they aren't cheap!!! just cheaper than new fxr parts...

They're very popular among students in Auckland, so theres always a few in the local bikewreckers. To be honest i didn't do the looking when i binned mine, the mechanic sourced a few replacement bits and bobs for me. But in response to my elation at the low cost of the repairs i was told "parts were cheap."

$50 for a clutch cover gasket, $120 for rear tail light, $20 for clutch/brake levers, $300 for the complete rear fairings(they crack like crazy when they hit the tarmac), $12 for Indicators. and thats from Road and Sport Hamilton who I'm pretty sure aren't very cheap.
I the distances wouldn't hurt the bike at all but its how you ride it. At 140~150 you can't hear the engine so you may not realise how much your stressing it but you can't hold that speed comfortably. Bloody nice engine though.
