Yup, that's correct folks..... before the Pyes Pa Run even started, I crashed (on my way to fuel up).

Was on a left corner, and the back suddenly went loose, came out on the right (which i knew was not good): i remember thinking *hmm.... i'm drifting, and this is gonna hurt*

managed to tuck the rear tyre back under the bike, make it through the last bit of the turn, then it jumped out again and here's the pictures of the following events.

Also, I got a ride in a Ambulance - I don't know what the hype is about... hospitals suck... the stupid bitch-doctor was trying to get me to leave way earlier than i felt comfortable with. I reckon that's the last time I'm going to a hospital... :D

Accident details: low-sided on left, then bike jumped around to the right and scratched the right footpeg till it went in the ditch

the scratch on my face i reckon is from the belt buckle, and if my car had been sold, QuasiMoto leather's woulda protected my hide... instead a old pair of blue trackpants, and a crappy fake leather Hallensteins jacket stopped me from damaging too much

Remember to replace helmet!!! easy to forget, but next time it won't protect as well! And leathers etc are a good investment too!
Get better soon

Next time perhaps you could wear jeans. May not be as good as leather but better than those thin plastic based track pants anyday.

Heal fast and ride again soon.

Well, I managed to remove the right bar end *see pic of before and after*
Started the bike up after a few attempts (after realising the kill-switch was on, and the fuel tank was set to 'off' position - silly technicalities), to find there is a small hole in my exhaust (which I'll get my welder friend to fix or maybe make me a new one...
Also, here is a pic of my right boot (left side), from scraping along the ground behind my bike, I plan to get proper bike boots when i get money :)

The right footpeg, to get back to normal working order, is gonna be a mission and a half, considering the footpeg is one whole bar, from left to right (kinda like handle bars bolted onto the bottom of the bike frame. If anyone wouldn't mind helping a tiny bit (if someone knows how to straighten metal for example), I'd appreciate it.

Haven't got to thinking about the rear-tyre yet, but as far as i can tell, it's just in need of a tube replacement (anyone know how much that is?)

Well... I just got the BEST letter i've had in ages :pinch:

nah, it's pretty funny :)

LETTER READS:

RE: Traffic Crash, Pyes Pa Road, Tauranga 25/30/2006
File: 060325/8835

Enquiries have been completed in respect to the above traffic crash at 8.25am on 25/03/2006, whilst driving your Kinetic Motor cycle, *****. <licence plate>

As previously discussed, it appears that your rear tyre has punctured causing you to lose control of the motorbike and sliding off the road.

Consideration has been given and NO Charges or Infringement Notice will be laid in respect to this matter and there will be no further Police action.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

We wish you a speedy recovery from your injuries.

Yours sincerely,

Jenny WRIGHT

TAURANGA

Well, my thoughts are: Yes, I've been lying in bed, and trying to sit on my chair comfortably at my computer for 3 days now... so considerate that you decided not to make me pay money for something I'm trying to recover from. haha sliding off the road... you make it sound so... trivial. I recall the time a police car was making sure one of the Targa Rally tracks was clear and his vehicle 'slid off the road... INTO A F**KING DITCH' TRIVIAL ISN'T IT YOU SMUG BASTARDS!!!

Oh, well, rant over...

My bike may be in working condition this weekend ^_^ although i'm not gonna get too 'up' myself with the little ability i am capable of...

Hope it heals fast. Damage doesnt look too bad all things considered. How considerate of the police not to charge you.
Loved the wording of the letter, did you feel like cordually inviting the sender to go and pleasure themselves in a sexual manner?

Awesome Teflon. Would appreciate it. Have done minor straightening, but i don't have a vice, so it's a half-job, but would be great if I could get 'professional' assistance :D Just PM me whatever day / time is most suitable to you, since I'm not currently working

...well... Teflon is straightening my footpegs today *Thanks Teflon :D*

Got some new indicators, all I need to do now is get a bit of plastic welding done to attach a small piece of plastic back in place for the rear indicator... does anyone in Hamilton know how to do plastic welding (or have any contacts)?

ZeroIndex
4th April 2006, 18:38
Well... installed my new carbon fibre style indicators on the front of my bike. Turned out to be REALLY easy :D just 3 screws took off the front of the headlight, and I had instant access to the necessary cables to unplug from the old indicators and insert the new ones. Now I've got 2 spare big indicators for the back of the bike (in case I bin it again)... but yeah, getting the back bracket thing plastic welded tomorrow morning :)

well... my bike's all fixed up and roadworthy again... and I've got a job interview tomorrow :) ooooh, and 500 POSTS!!! :D

Glad to hear bike is on the road again and good luck with the job interview let us know how you get on.

...job interview went well... should be finding out on Tuesday if i get a job with ...wait for it, wait for it.... DX Mail :D yes, pretty lame, but it is money, and i will get good biking experience.

On my way home (scenic route as always), I decided to pop into the BMW/Hyosung motorcycle shop (BP side of Te Rapa Straight, for all Hamilton people). Anyway, my reason for being there is my switch thingy for the front brake stopped working again and I couldn't get it working. Turns out the only part that would fit, wasn't Hyosung... I'm proud to say my bike should go up in value, cause it's now fitted with a 5 cm switch manufactured for BMW!!! :D yeah, cheesy. I'm happy though
