Tonight on Fair Go on TV1 at 7.30pm there is a story about a m/bike....
The story starts at the Cementary circuit........ and then onto......!
There is a young lad riding a bike, that I have seen in the adverts about the story... so it maybe worth checking it out.

29th March 2006, 19:55
So let me get this straight, you pay shit money for a shit bike and then get pissed when it turns to shit. Hmm... I can understand how you can get shitty about that - not.
But it's Fair Go, and working for an insurer I've come across Fair Go before. Facts don't make good TV, so I've little confidence that a full and balanced story was presented on air.

I would agree with that there is two sides to every story,
If you pay peanuts you get monkeys,,,,

The lesson learned is to do ya bloody homework before you part with your hard earned bling! If the price is too good to be true, then it nearly always is.

We USED to deal with these guys....though they were better than the other clown we dealt with.....
And we've been on the wrong side of Fair go too, with a story that was completely BS, but again the facts weren't good enough......

Its easy to import stuff and hock it off, But its repaying the poor sods that buy the crap, Thats when it becomes a bastard for all concerned.

At just under a grand each, what exactly where they expecting?
As far as the company goes, NZders have mostly had a guts full of cheap crap being imported and sold here so everyone learned something valuable maybe.
*** For the pitbikers among us, what is the least you would expect to pay for a reasonable pit bike (not a world class one, just an okay one that could be improved later if you wanted).

We have two VERY similar bikes and paid under 9 hundy each (from an importer not stainless). Its true, you get what you pay for.
Personally, I think that family were a bunch of SCABS. :gob:
If they wanted quality they shouldve paid some real dollars and bought jap. I hope stainless takes them to court and gets some money back. Only "run in" - fucken BS! :angry2:
We give our bikes, what I consider to be a pretty hard time, considering their price and build quality (which has to be taken fairly into consideration). Apart from a few loosening nuts and bolts, (fixed with lock tight etc.) , no probs!

It's like the little minimoto I've got. The quality of the welds is shite, the components are shite, the fit and finish is shite. But I expected that cos I paid bugger all for it. I treat it like shite, but am pleasantly surprised that it hasn't fallen to bits yet. But when it does, I won't be surprised.
Cookie - Whitetrash's ones were a grand I think, or maybe just over??? If they can take the trashman treatment, they can take anyone worthy of bike ownership. Hell, if I had some spare folding stuff I'd be up for one.

But you learned a hell of a lot putting it all together I'll bet. In IT it is nothing to spend $3000 on a two day course so in terms of your self-education, you might just be on top - even though you don't have a sprotsbike to show for it, time enough for that later. :niceone:
