Is it just me, or is everyone who drives a BMW an incompetent pillock?

Had an incident a while back where some guy in a red 80's convertable tailgated me in a 50kph zone while I was going at a reasonable 65kph (in no hurry, enjoying the brilliant day). He then forced his way through on the left and sped off. I took exception to this and pursued him (yes, I was on the scoot you heckling bastards) caught up to him at the lights and gave him a piece of my mind, but as far as he was concerned he had done no wrong!

Then yesterday I was waiting at a Give Way and some useless slapper in a BMW rolled into the back of me, luckly doing minimal damage.

And this is not to mention all the red light runners in BMWs I have seen, the non indicators in BMWs, the random U-turners in BMWs, the right turners from a left position at busy T-intersections, those who park in bus lanes during rush hour, those who take 15 seconds to move at a green light, those who talk on cell phones while negotiation a roundabout - disproportionally BMW drivers

Am I a BMW racist, or have you lot had similar experiences?

I'd have to agree with you - the MAJORITY of BMW car drivers fall into two camps - either the crawl at 80kph guys or the got-to-get-past-you-at-all-costs types.

Although drivers of white vans and Range Rover drivers are coming a close second! On my way to Wellington yesterday by car (no, NOT to see the bloody rugby) I watched this idiot who got upset at a guy who pulled out from a side road onto SH1 at Waikanae. It was in the 70kph zone and there was plenty of room, but WVM (white van man) was doing about 110 and wasn't prepared to slow down for anyone, so he pulled on the INSIDE of this guy and passed him - and for what? He turned off into Waikanae about 200m later!

As I'd been stuck behind a guy (in a BMW, ironically!) doing 60 in the 80 zone leading into Paekakariki I headed over the hill - only to catch up to a Range Rover doing 30 max. He was so slow I had to drop into second gear and there was nowhere to pass safely. I hoped he'd stop at the summit but he didn't, and then he caught up to two fucking cyclists (see the post on cyclists for my views on THESE idiots!) riding in the middle of the lane so he sat behind them, even when he could see to pass them. Admittedly they were probably going faster than him, but I didn't turn off to avoid the traffic only to be crawling at 30kph all the way to Battle Hill, so I flashed my lights at him. Thankfully a few corners later there was a driveway and he pulled over and let me pass. A few hundred metres later the cyclists were history too (no, despite being sorely tempted, I did not run the tossers over and throw their bodies in the bushes) but I was so frustrated.

In fact the whole trip was a nightmare. Even in the 100kph parts I'd come across drivers doing a maximum of 80 - it's almost like 80 has become the new 100. One woman on Haywards Hill was doing 80 in the 100km bit then slowed to about 50 doing down the hill, braking for EVERY slight curve in the road. I've got to the stage where I loathe heading to Wellington because by the time you factor in the numerous road works and tossers, you'd be better off not bothering. It took me 1hr 45m to get from Levin to Lower Hutt - a distance of 110kms.

i remember one morning trying to merge with traffic at the top of my road. there is a big no stopping zone at the top of my street to allow people in.

one morning theres an old fart in an X5 parked right in the middle of the no stopping area. so i pull up and cut him in. wasn't much room for me however so traffic started to back up behind me.

i wound down my window and yelled out to him. "Hey - this is a keep clear, you shouldn't park here, looked what you've done to the traffic!"
