Woah - just realised I'm missing the rugby so better make this quick...

Just thought I'd put the word out there to say that if anyone knows of a sj413 for sale can they let me know. I'm looking at one on TradeMe at the mo but it's in Palmy which is a pain. Prob going up tomorrow (Round the Bend Ride) but the guy (Phil if anyone knows him - I think he's a bike guy) hasn't been online yet to get in touch so prob won't be able to check it out.

I figure word of mouth is often the way to go and there's a few contacts on this site so if anyone hears of anything, let me know (in lower north island). Cheers!

SJ410 is better,of course there are those who will say the 3 cyl 2 stroke was even better! I looked after a couple of SJ410 rentals for 3 years - they were the most sort after, and they were our run abouts too,the boss took one home at night, and I often took the other, unless I was using my company vehicle...an ER185.They were always or most economical car - 45mpg...and this was on Waiheke Island,no straight roads, all twisty and hilly and mostly gravel.

I don't like the SJ413 as much, they give more mechanical problems, they blow head gaskets and have an alloy block,I have never had the head off a 410,done lots of 413's.Chassis and drive line are fine, look out for body rust.

Thanks! Yeah - I've gathered their pretty good little toys. Kinda gutless on the road but awesome for crawling over hills cause of the weight. I'll prob just go for whatever comes up (410/413), at a decent price.

Have owned 2 410's and 3 413's and in my humble opinion the 413 was superior due to added "torque"...if ya could caqll it that.
Found with the wee 1000cc 410 ya had to thrash it therefore it bounced which obviously isnt good when trying to get traction ascending a step muddy/sandy/bumpy/etc hill.
We ended up putting a twincam toyota motor in the last 413 and it pulled just right and was a fairly easy swap :niceone:
Best 4wd per buck you can buy sir! I had a '74 Willys Jeep with a 302 Mustang motor and a 3 speed toploader, twin Detroit lockers, mud swampers...the works....still prefer the Suzi's in MOST situations :niceone:

Litteraly found this cottage in the middle of nowhere up the back blocks of Opononi.

Yeah mate - I want to be able to put my goat (and dogs when I get them) in the back and also to take dead goats up the hill when I shoot them down near the house. Had to get the old man to do it last time.
(Btw - I got a pig on Monday!!!:2thumbsup Yayayayayayayay)

Yep - I'll flick Carl a text - have you told him about the ride? Get him online sometime so he can see when this stuff's on.

Congrates on your 4WD purchase. Its what every biker who's not in denial wants over winter. (Their own centrally heated box to travel down the road in)

Its the start of the slippery slope to becoming a cager.

Oh nah, but it's not going to be a commuter or anything like that.
Here's the pic that was on TradeMe....

It's a cutie!
