Hey everyone.
I'm thinking about upgrading my fork internals, 'cos the whole plot is a bit soft right now.
I checked out the racetech website, and they sell springs, gold valve kits, and gold valve rebound kits.
http://www.racetech.com/evalving/english/Srchpr.asp?bikeid=155&manufacture=Honda&model=CBR929RR&year=00-01&TABLEINFO=street&langname=english
Must I upgrade the whole lot at once? Or would some new springs and a gold valve kit be adequate?
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers.

u can just do springs first....and maybe changer the oil....then u can alter the factory shim stack to suit the heavyer rated springs....and or do the whole lot at once...
Ps:your gunna need more than racetech internals to learn me sonny!!!! ur gunna need a miricle!

Cheers Poos. I'll probably do it at once, since I'll likely be importing this stuff.
You might wanna do the same, Taupo track requires a stiffer setup to the farm aye.

Really? I'd have thought that the extra travel and lighter bike would've meant lighter springs...do you use lighter fork oil? You'll have to enlighten me some day, oh great Uncle Poos.

Cheers Sensei, I'll give him a call tomorrow on my lunch break.
I've actually just been reading on fireblades.org that some people have issues with the racetech stuff deteriorating with use...so maybe Ohlins is the way to go.

standard fork oil and shim's....10 kgmm front springs...the standard spring were bottoming out just doin wheelies...
just coz the suspension is long travel doesn't mean it needs to have soft springs... the weight of the bike wet....probally bout 115kgs + me 95kgs..+ the extra weight cause by gravity and momentum...throw than off a 2metre drop or land a jump....ur springs need to beable to resist quite a big force...other wise u will break shit....

I installed Race Tech Progressive Rate Springs and Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators in my T'bird and Ohlins Springs and race tech Gold Valve Cartridge emualtors in my Trophy 1200.
The results were pretty much identical.
Coupled with the Ohlins shock fitted to both bikes it added 40kph to comfortable cornering speeds accross the range.
