Speedo Correction

I decided that my estimated 13-14% speedo error was too much, so I bought a Jaycar Electronics speedo corrector kit. It wasn't too hard to put together, the hardest part was diagnosing what the voltages were that the speedo sensor on the bike was sending to the speedo, and deciding how to connect it.
Here's some pix.
Pic one is the finished board; the two rotary dials are used to set how many percent (1-99%) up or down to adjust the speedo reading by. Pic 2 is the board in the case; pic 3 is the bits I bought (didn't use the plugs), and the last two show the case mounted under the left-hand fairing cowl with double-sided sticky stuff (to be replaced with 3M mountings).

How much cost you all up?

I am thinking about going -1 on front sproket on bike but it stuff up the speedo, and the 'yellow boxs' are like $100ish at least nz.

Retail it's about $55, plus a couple of dollars for the box. The kit comes with everything you need apart from the case, and some tools.
My speedo was ~7-8% optomistic, then I geared the bike down one tooth on the front sprocket, which left me over 14% optomistic on the speedo (i.e., at a true 100 km/h, it read ~115).

Hmmm cool, i geared the gix down 2 at the front and up 3 at the back, the speedo is well fucked, but most of the time if i'm riding i'm doing something wrong anyway so an accurate speedo prolly isn't a big deal.

$55 aint too bad though, i was just going to buy a pushbike 300kph speedo and jimmy that on some how, same kinda money (but at least the K's dont rack up)

What can you do with cable speedos???

Mine is wildly optimistic (about 15%) and it gets really annoying havting to figure out the speed by maths.

Any opinions??

There are speedo calibration places that can adjust it. Part of it is the coiled spring thingo (tech term) in cable-operated speedos gets tired and less springy with age.

yeah K14 uses one on his rs125 to log top speed etc works well and completly cutomisable, only prob is wont work with the front wheel in the air:devil2:
