I reckon you'd also have to increase the rear preload a couple of notches too....

What would be light enough to mount to the VTZ? I so could have used it today. I'm thinking of twin Remingtons, either side of the tank with a trigger bar to fire both at once.
Nobody would cut me off then!!!!!!

At an American forum I belong to every so often a thread titled "show your weapons for riding" pops up. Man, these guys pack some serious heat. Either in a quick release tank bag or mounted inside their leathers with easy access. One guy was an ex-marine who had a gun pulled on him by a car driver, reached into his jacket and fired off a number of rounds before the driver knew what happened. He (the ex-marine) stopped at the next cop shop and reported it in (he was licenced to carry concealed weapons), no charges against him were filed and the cops pursued the car driver.

If you're carrying a passenger, surely it's her job to deploy the weapons? As a pillion I already feel kinda vulnerable -- any chance to take out my frustrations on an inconsiderate road-user would be welcomed. :ar15:

You find people that carry look for reasons or excuses to use them, a few mates had conceal permits or carried anyway (including cops and crooks). Its like when you have a new can of WD40 and your walking around the house and garage looking for somewhere to use it.

And the problem with that is? The more lawful citizens are armed, the less criminals will try, 'coz they know they have a good chance of getting wasted! Well, that's what I'm standing by when they catch me with my loaded bofors on the pillion seat! :ar15: :2thumbsup

That's the american line and it's bullshit. "No fucker's going to mess with me and if they do they're going to get some heat."
Sometime ago I was on an American forum and these guys decided to put it to the test with paintball guns. They use a Musatang convertable and a Harley Sportster. They both used paintball pistols. These have a short range but even so the car had the advantage. The driver could fire and drive with one hand whereas the biker could not.
The problem with the bike is that most people fire with their right hand and that's the the throttle hand. Even at close range the car scored the first hit and that's the one that counts. The post degenerated that it was not the highway, etc and was not a valid test ie painball versus the real thing yadda yadda yadda etc, it was carried out on an uraban airfield and those that were there claimed the car got the best of it. Just be gratrefull there's no fire arms out on our highways. There's enough shit out there with out anymore.

Hell, given half a chance I'd love to have a Ruger Redhawk in .38 strapped to my hip.Nice an visable, then no prick would say "I didn't see ya'.
Bastards would be so busy looking they'd run up the arse of the car in front.
Yeah, took the bike to work today.

Simple solution then, learn to shoot leftie! And if you have guns on both hips then either hand's fine!
Also, definitely, they shold have carried out the test on a pubic highway, more realistic conditions and the bike could use can used other traffic as cover and its manoevuerability to its advantage!
Plus, it would make great reality TV catching the expressions of the other drivers, as well as the resulting cop chase!! 3 way fun - Cop cars vs Bike vs Mustang!! Woo hoo!! I think we have a winner on our hands here!

Nah that is too tricky, build a semi automated turret that is aimed by optical tracking of your eye with a small HUD in front of your left eye, would not be too diffficult and would scare the shit out of someone to see a Desert Eagle unfold from the pillion cover and track round on to them!

Yes, and since it's mounted in the seat, you can have an extended magazine and carry 30, or even 100 rounds, loaded! Then tweak the blowback mechanism to enable full auto fire!
