Heya Buggy - going to do both. Thought I'd do a bit of drag racing in the morn (8:30 start remember) and then shoot off to Puke.

But  it seems as though puke is starting at 1pm and finishing at 5pm.

WTF - and they still want $90 -- Wonder how many sessions I'll get..... Grrrr..... Shouldn't they make it $45 for half a day??

Why a 1pm start??

Someone care to comment??

Had a pretty decent day - woke up at 7 am looked outside and said feck it. Got on KB and sat around looking at the walls.

Around 11am the sun came out, so I left for Meremere got there by 12 and did two drags. Managed to do a 14.16 at 146 kmph and another at 15:45 at 148 kmph.

The guys at Meremere then stopped for lunch so I headed off to Puke.

Turns out there were tooo many bloody cars. So the day ran:

Road cars
Race cars
Bikes
Single Seaters

Managed to get 3 sessions only the last of which was in the rain. There were about 6-8 bikes.

Went pretty ok, I managed to satisfy myself.

The biggest problem I had was going over the hill - no matter what I tried I couldn't do over 145kmph while leaned over and barely made it to 170 before dropping a gear for Jennian - guys advice please.

I can now confirm GPR70's are the bizzo. I could go just as hard in the rain as in the dry. Don't know if they'll last 2 track days though as mine look thoroughly shagged. The guys said most of the stuff will peel off with road use and the tyre will look a bit minter.

K got to go out now, see ya's :spudwave:

With that atitude NO

Dear Sirs and Madam’s,:sweatdrop

I would like to humbly apologise for my shameful outburst expressing an arrogant lack of decorum as I so rudely asked for your advice.

Could any of you please, I beg, find it in your soul to grant me forgiveness just this once…? Furthermore, if my sins were reconcilable, would you tell me what I desired to hear?

I shall be forever in your gratitude and my entire being will be grateful for your exculpation.

With complete contrition,
JSG

CBR250,

Full throttle, from the hairpin to esses, not letting off once.... Brake for the esses, drop it to 4th, full throttle through the esses, drop it to third and feather the front brake for castrol... Full throttle for the back straight and brake at the 100-70 metre mark... Thats what i would start with and see where i could save more time...

Another note, dont look at your speedo...

Cheers TS,

I tried my best to take the hairpin as close to the right edge as possible to so I could enter the next left as straight as possible. Went up 2 gears at 16-17rpm each crossed over mid track to enter the hill and went through exiting nearer the left edge.

I could not accelerate enough to go any faster. I guess if I can manage to go flat out without buttoning off through from the hair pin till Jennian then I may have some chance.

Currently I usually button off a little bit as I enter the hill.

Just re-read your post - ah - :slap:

I buttoned off while entering the hill and stopped accelerating to do a downchange while entering Jennian.

some really good info from TS there, main thing i would say its to keep it in the 'sweet spot' above 11,000 or so RPM. Send vtec a PM and ask him what sort of tactics he used... afterall he ran 1.15 and the best guys there on the day seemed pretty impressed by that.

lol, dude you posted at 6.30 on a saturday night, when most people were out getting pissed/having a good time, and then again on sunday morning - when most people are riding/working on their bikes... did you really expect that much of a response :bleh:

I need to maintain between 12-16K rpm to retain some sort of forward motion. The engine was above 14k 99.99% of the time.

Vtec is a good rider, but he's been riding longer than you and even bugjuice, so I can't really compare my riding skills to him, basically I need to carry more corner speed. I closed the throttle twice from the hairpin to the esses.
