View Full Version : Ever have one of those rides
when you're on your way to work and you pull off a fairly dodgey move and think, I hope there no cops saw that ... then you nearly fall off as another rider blasts past you?

If we're talking about the commute, I'm usually the other rider.

I had an incident where when i was still studying and working heaps, I was coming home from work late one night and i was gonna open up the car a bit coming out a round about. I was so tired that i saw the cop coming through and i watched him hopeing he hadent seen me do anything bad. Mean while i ran into a garden and back out in front of him.
Man you do some dumb shit when your tired.
He pulled me over asked me a few questions, told him i had just finished work and i was a student. I dont think he could believe that i had just done that either. Didnt get a ticket but did however get shit from a mate who heard me get pulled over on a scanner. Was even funnier telling him what i got pulled over for. Hahahahaha:eek:

hehe. on the way to the ride on thursday night, along the north western i was lane splitting, following 2 other bikes, up ahead there was a cop so we all stopped lane splitting and slowly worked past him by chaning lanes legimately - till we were all far enough ahead to start splitting again.
then all of a sudden - his lights come on and he starts pushing through the traffic.
all three of us stop lane splitting and merge in with traffic again. i was thinking - oh bugger, he must not like bikes.
turns out he sped right past us to go to an accident.
but i was thinking. ooops - this could be "one of those rides"
I've had several of those pulling in quickly incidents when you spot a cop, all quite amusing. Especially when someone else on a bike splits it past you before realising what is going on.

Years ago I had an RD250LC.No mirrors on it so a quick look behind showed nothing behind me at a junction as I turned off the main road on the way to work.going down the road I was aware of a car behind me as the road lit up(this was at night),quick look behind and all I saw was a car with all it`s lights on main beam, guy must have been shifting I thought but I was confidant of up-holding the honour of bikers against some poxy boy-racer.Dropped down a couple of gears and gave it some stick. As I slowed down to go into the works car-park I heard the siren,"boy-racer" was a cop car,as I`d have seen if I`d had mirrors fitted.reason they were in such a hurry was that they were on the way to an accident,if they hadn`t been they`d have nicked me big-style.All this explained by some cop out of his window at the top of his voice in the factory car park as bemused/amused workmates walked by on their way to clock in.Cop pulled away in in a cloud of gravel........and I traded the bike in 2 days later, getting a new hjelmet while I was at it.
