Seems someone came off his bike after hitting the barrier outside the Terrace tunnel. bike and rider thrown in air and he has got up with a big gash to the legbone showing. Demanded they put his '$100,000' import on the back of one of the road works utes B4 police arrrive. Obviously they didnt. Interesting that whilst they were trying to protect the rider and his damaged bike with traffic cones some suit in a car was pointing at them and his watch. Ass @@@@!. I respect road workers and always slow right down for these great guys and ladies. The rider had booze on his breath and had bounced off several cars according to an witness I spoke to today. The fact hes OK is great but dont go around trying to demand others protect you for being an donkeys ass please if you are reading this which I doubt.

Some drunk SOB on a harley drove into the side of my friends skyline the other night and wrote himself, bike and the car off. Drunk drivins bad enough but on a bike..why the F@#k do peole want to risk their pride and joy by riding boozed? Ah well that my 2 cents

I was on way through Paekakariki Thurs night in my rig, traffic northbound was at a crawl.... double yellow lines... I watched in amazement as a northbound biker pulled out in path of oncomming traffic, passed a couple cars then swung through the gap and passed a semi truck on the lefthand side then cut across his nose and passed a couple more cars.
Dickwads like that are the reason we pay very high ACC levies on motorcycles.

I hope someone took the time to *555 him ...dam sure I would have if I saw his rego.

I drove from Wellington to Lower Hutt three times over the weekend. Everytime there was some idiot in a boyracer car acting the fool and way exceeding licence losing speeds.

Seems that with the "Too Hot To Handle" show in town, too many idiots are getting far too carried away.

On saturday, I was riding over the haywards and followed a brand new Z350, we were doing 110kph for about two kilometres, then when the overtaking lane arrived, the farkhead accelerated to 150.:weird:
So I accelerated to 210. As you do.
I had pex_adams behind us both and he was telling me how the Z350 tried to catch me, and flew over the top point of the hill too fast and ended up with his rear end fishtailing as he begun losing control, but luckily the front held and the rear came back. He would have been at about 180 at the time. Apparantly he dropped straight down to 110 after that.
But what was it with the weekend??? Nutters everywhere.
Normally I don't see another one out when I'm riding, other than MD.

Possibly a TRTNR bike?

What sort of bike? Did it have Police written on the side of it?

the '$100,000' means just that !.
Some Donkey asses re count thats all
In other words it was a $2000 Jap import once I got the details.
Remember this came from a car owner retard whom was bringing up the story as he complaining about car insurance..yeh right.
Isnt it interesting the difference between ":
Bus Drivers. Car drivers, Ex riders/bus drivers, Ex riders/car drivers
And older riders in todays traffic? Look at scooters riders ! Manics. !

I don't understand it myself. There are plenty of good roads 'round here and plenty of time to ride them - why the f*ck would ya want to do stupid things when there's a shit load of retard cagers on the road doing their own stupid things? ie peak time. I got no problem with lane splitting but (and it's been done to death in other threads) it's gotta be done within reason.

I had a few years spell off bikes and really notice the difference in how bad the driving is out there and traffic is so much worse. I cruise along the Wellington Motorway at about legal speeds and get all sorts of clowns trying to cut me off at 125+. I promised myself that if I got the bike I would ride to live, literally, but oh no.. its definitely the other side out to get me now. Just like that poor lady in Christchurch last week whom got killed because someone rear ended her whilst she was stopped. I once used the excuse to traffic officers that as a motorcyclist on a 500 single it was necessary to beat the traffic at lights to stay alive. They didnt accept that but 25 years later I am thinking that perhaps a lot of our members aren't been such idiots after all when it comes to lane spliting, which I have always avoided after seeing doors opened etc. I ride with my lights on because thats the way the GSX is defaulted to do, though I always have since the 1970's. It really can make a difference and save your life at the speeds the traffic goes nowadays. Gee... I remember the old 80kph speed limit too. Getting old but at least still here and on two wheels. Not taking away from anything anyone has said here, but what's "idiotic" to some is just "normal" to others. Look at speeding. I don't see 141k as worthy of losing my license for, but go ask my grandmother about it - she thinks you spontaneously combust at anything over 110. So what's "stupid" then?

you have a fast powerful bike so therefore you should go as fast as possible or do you enjoy the motorcycling expeirence and just cruise because thats the Americian dream isnt it? Easy Rider - Throw the wristwatch away and just point the bike at the open road with no goel in mind. The reality is that we all sometimes do silly things and nearly get wasted and that too is part of the thrill and danger of riding. I do remember passing a truck on the Masterton side of the gorge with a pillion on and someone coming up from the other way, on a very narrow tight corner...... Now that was really interesting but I was committed to the pass and boy did I feel a jerk afterwards for endangering my friend. That was a long time ago.

Just stay away from two strokes, mate. They're a BAD influence on law abiding bikers I reckon.

I have nothing against drinking. However, excessive drinking is just silly. I'm probably not making lots of friends here, but when drinking; driving or riding; and the "she'll be right, mate" attitude are put together, alot of innocents get hurt. I'm qute happy for drink drivers/riders to wipe themselves out, but let's keep roadkill to possums please...

A Hot Chocolate for me please, barman!
