Hello people, I'm new to this whole biking thing, but I'm hooked! So far I've only been on the back of my boyfriend's bike but I will be keen to get my own bike before too long. I need to plan what to get, save up, and start learning to ride. I'm planning to get professional lessons rather than let the b/f teach me. I reckon it will be less stressful for everyone that way ;)
So far the b/f has done his best to lose me off the back but I have always managed to stay put. I just wish he had a pillion seat with a bit more padding. :eyepoke:

Welcome to KB......
enjoy.... nice to see another chick hooked!!!
I learned on and am still riding a Suzuki FXR150.....
i love it... esp as i'm not the tallest chick out...
So many opinions on so many bikes .... I recommend spending the least amount of money possible on your first bike. Chances are you will want something bigger before you're legally allowed!

Welcome to the site - Learning from the pro's costs a little money but it helps you so much more - i.e. the smaller details of riding etc and I glad I did it my self.

Deprive him of certain intimacies until he cracks and buys you a bike. Or he might be into a bit of this :tugger: or maybe he'll go after a bloke :shake:

Welcome!
Have fun finding a bike you like, and learning to ride. I've been learning since February. I always hated being on the back of bf's bike, so I decided to get my own. He's been teaching/helping me so far, and it hasn't been too bad.

Was booked in to sit my basic handling after 20 years away from bikes and having to start from scratch. Wifey decided she wants to do it too, on the Friday before the test on Sunday. She had never ridden a bike in her life...
Took her for lessons, got up to 20kmph in the first day...
Saturday was better, passed the test on Sunday on a completely different shit of a bike...some 100cc thing...blardy awful to ride....
She has a GSX250 which is a good beginners bike. Will be selling soon as we go for full licences 6th May and will upsize...
