Is a public holiday. Gonna go for a short blat. Maybe round to kaiua and then we'll see from there. No more than 2 or 3 hours ... just getting the cob webs out.

This will be a medium fast ride and there will be 1 maybe 2 stops and we won't be waiting every 5 seconds...

Edit

Clevedon shell at 1:15 leaving 1:30...

What a hoot. A ride gets posted for Friday 14th and it turns into a full on discussion on the finer points of Easter and misquotes from the Old Testament thrown in to boot. Probably one of the only times the semi religious go to Church is over Easter, that and their wedding and lets not forget their funeral, where if they have been good boys, they might get to see their maker.

I may be able to make the ride if it's not too early. Need a good sleep in and the roads may take a while to dry off through the Orere Point gorge.

What time and where are you meeting?

beyond
14th April 2006, 11:03
Clevedon is out from Papakura, heading East towards Maraetai.
It's about 12 kms East from papakura.

I take it you have ridden before? Probably not the best place to take a new bike, even if you have ridden before. It can be a demanding piece of road especially if you do not know it and secondly, on a new machine you won't be completely familiar with yet.

If you are ok with that, by all means come.

Affman, it looks like I can come so I'll be there at 1.15pm.

Another great day for riding. :)

That was cool. Good to meet even more faces from the forum. Really good turnout considering it sounded like only half a dozen or so were coming.

A lot of traffic about today, but expected I suppose.

Thanks all for a good day out. Went a bit pear shaped at the end as far as ride finishing points were concerned but that's no worry as long as everyone got back okay and didn't get peeved for missing catch up points. :)

Till next time, keep safe.

yeh more people turned out than expected....

A bit much traffic and some interesting roadworks locations made the ride a bit more interesting..

Yeh all kind of went to shit at the end.... Hope everyone got home ok.

Was a good ride though but it stressed 2 points. I need a steering damper with that gearing and I need a bigger bike.. Was running at about 11-12000 revs the whole time.:bash: :bash: . Was really likeing the extra oomph the larger sprocket was giving me out of the corners though.

See you all on the next one.

Thanks Gixser. Ground clearance is about my only issue on the fuel tanker :)

Some nice wheelies there mate.

The guy on the Ducati is Gary. He normally rides a red metallic R1 and is one of the few people I know who has no chicken strips on his tyres, rear and front! He's real hard to keep up with once he gets going and impossible to stay with when he really cranks up. i.e. particularly when his detector goes off. :)

Hey Aff,

I reckon that 600 of yours goes quite well mate.

I also think the new 600 would be the dogs bollocks. Shaun Giles gets the new GSXR6000 k6 to around 275 on the straight at Philip Island track.

So, I reckon once you have some pennies, might be a good bike. Wouldn't mind one myself as a second bike for the short fangs eh? :)

I was actually looking at (when I can save some pennies) a k1 750....
The newer 600 would be the bizzo but a bit to expensive for me and I really love the torque out of a corner..

If I win lotto though there will be a k6 600 sitting in the garage promptly.

Sorry mate. Don't worry. We ended up losing just about everyone around Tuakau, but it sounds like all got home okay. :)

Just a bit of a mix up on where to do the final meet before heading off.
