Route will be Rotorua - Awakeri - Taneatua - Optiki - Te Kaha - Te Aroara and back the same way.
Please note if you bike has a prefrence for 96 octane fuel then you will need octane boost as the servo at Te Aroara has only 91.

I really want to do this ride but as soon as I say I'm in, some shit will happen, like kids getting sick or I run out of fun coupons, and I wont be able to make it. So I'll do my best to save a few fun coupons and give the babysitter the usual sob story and try and make it.:shifty:

Awesome day guys! Apart from a bit of early morning rain. Good to meet Limbimtimwim, Kendog & RFC85 and I think Limbimtmwim gave everyone the learn....but I could be wrong 'cos I chickened out on the new sealed bits. We stopped at Te Kaha for lunch & the Welly lads carried on around the cape to Gizzy. Hope you guys enjoyed the rest of your marathon ride.
Geez you guys are so easily baited:corn: :corn: Just a few revs at the lights at Taneatua rail bridge and the lads took off. Did you not think the 400 would wheelie off the line like it did? Farkin funny!!
Good to see Jill & Jo:) in Opotiki on their way from Gizzy to Rots. We stopped at the Kawarau turn off & waited for them but they'd already gone. That was ok tho 'cos I got to do the Rotoma's again & had a clear run both ways:banana: Great to see Eman & Tash too...I think Tash is the epitome of the perfect pillion.
Was a fantastic day thanks r4q2 and TBoy.

Awesome day guys! Apart from a bit of early morning rain. Good to meet Limbimtimwim, Kendog & RFC85 and Was excellent all the way around to Gisborne. We were totally destroyed by the time we got there. Roadworks Te Aramoamamamaaara onwards were not too bad. Think I got air off some off the bumps though. Fun if you like that sort of thing, which I do.
I think Limbimtmwim gave everyone the learn...Nah. It'd be quite a day if I ever got past r4q2. I was really enjoying being shown how it was done out on the cape.

Great to catch up with you guys at Opotiki. Sorry it wasn't for longer.
Yeah, came through the Kawerau turnoff and couldn't remember if Gav had said the first turnoff or the second so kept going and then found myself giving some guy on a scooter the learn over the saddle so just kept going...
Waited for you guys for a while at the turnoff to Rotorua and was just about to head off when you turned up. Loved that little piece of twisty road over the top of the lake - I take it you guys ride that one regularly...
Will have to do it all again soon - there are some awesome roads down there!

I'm still used to the endless torque of the mighty 250, so no I didn't realise it'd come up so fast.

We don't really do it that regularly, I think I've done it twice.
And yes you will have to come down again soon.

Wikkid day out!
Been a looong wait, 2months infact, and i loved every minute of it!
Funny how the 'safety in numbers' thing not only affects the rate at which we ride, but also how much grief we give our bikes! Ie - on the out to mee t up with ya's, i didn't go over 6k rpm; on the way back it was a 'tad higher', and she survived...allbeit with a wee coolant leak..
Yep, i've got an awesome pillion on the back! All i could hear thru' the intercom was "SEE YA LATER MR POLICEMAN!!!!" ;)
Cool to meet KS & Jo as well...and you're right KS, that road is ridden regularly!
New nickname for Tboy = the Undertaker...kinda like the WWF wrestling, but not.. if ya know whad'I mean! :)
