fookinell..
so the fact that they're going the same direction in that lane is just a coincidence?
i bet they're more aware of themselves than a lot of kiwi drivers are..

Yes it is, it may seem crazy to you jokers but it's pretty normal there, people drive/ride/walk like that 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Road rage is unheard of and there are way fewer accidents than you think. Believe it or not:cool:

I was in India 2 years ago, in time for the Goa road safety week.....there slogan was 'lane driving is sane driving' all mad, the taxi's had a picture of the Madonna and child with Divali flowers around it...talk about hedging your bets..
mum, dad, and 3 kids on a Vespa is all normal.

Was in Goa, India just a couple of weeks ago and it is just crazy.
Taxi driver told us there is no speed limit and everyone forgets the road rules once they have their licence (if they hold one that is). There is just "mutual understanding". Just from the airport to the hotel, we had several near head-ons with other cars, mopeds (carrying 3 or 4 people) and trucks.
They hit the horn to let you know they are there, again to pass, and again to say thanks....
Just absolutely crazy buggers but it seems to work for them.

You prob wouldn't believe me, but's it's less than 1% of the figure you are imagining.
Imagine how you would feel if you rode/drove like that everyday of your life as did your dad and mum and their parents and their parents...... It'll become second nature.

reminds me of an ant trail!!
it's true though...you adapt, humans can be good at it...when they so choose
i had to 'adapt' to London riding, now i'm 're-adapting' to Rotovegas...but alot slower! (it's quicker & more fun to ride London-style, innit?!)

I learnt to ride and drive here, was only old enough for a push bike back home, and most of the riding we did was on country roads like the equivalent of my Dahling Cheenic Dwive .
I "sometimes" *cough-cough* ride the way I do cos I like the buzz.

Ain't it amazing what human beings can do (or survive) with a common understanding between them - says a lot for the concept of UNITY don't it. WHOOPS! there I go with that philosophical shit again!
