Nearly hit a dude on the motorway!
I was heading home form town at about 8:30/9pm on Thurs night on the bike.
I was about halfway between the Ellerslie Off ramp and the South Eastern Arterial Offramp. In my peripheral vision i saw this thing come running out form my left, and instinctively grabbed a handfull of brake just in time to see this dude come running across in front of me.
The car to the right of me was just about parallel with me, and so had to brake hard too. He jsut missed the guy as well.
I remember glancing at the on coming traffic and thinking, "hell he iwll be lucky to make it across".
I was then gone well past him and sorta thought i might do a u turn there under the bridge and go see if he was hit or not, but figured that the chances he made it were probably too good to waste time being nosey.
I didn't think anymore of it untill on Sunday when i was yackin to my uncle, and he mentioned that this bloke on Thurs night had been running form the cops and got wacked by a few cars and an ambo!
Did a quick check on the net, and sure enough it was him.
I suppose he will now be thinking how much easier it would have been to have just stopped...he is alive still i believe...how i dont know.
