Motorcycle City in Lower Hutt are closing down. After years of being way overpriced, they are now selling off stock at quite reasonable prices. Got a couple of pairs of riding pants there, $250 marked down to $175 and the other pair, $20 for some ex-rentals. Could be worth a look if you're out that way

How they have fallen since the days they sponsored the winner of the Castrol 6 Hour. The Harris family had a background in dirt bikes too and they walked away from dirt bike customers. Then the road bikes they imported never seemed to be good ones as if they were sourcing the dregs from Japan, which they touched up with an overdose of silver paint - yuk. As a Ulyssian I was given a 10% discount card but that only seemed to bring their prices closer to a regular price so I never shopped there much.

Yeah, Mike Harris, (Dad) an Ixion icon was a NZ Trials champ, as was Chris.
Neil was also an accomplished 'feet up' rider while Graham was a better than average Enduro rider who went to England.
Think he may still be there.

Neil Harris was a road racer as well and I'm pretty sure this first pic was him at Lyall Bay in 1984. The second pic is of Chris when he did a South Island trip with us to Hanmer via Rainbow road in 2000 and this was on the Jack's Pass Road. Motu you'd like that country if you haven't done it already.
