QUOTE FROM BEND-IT:
Hey hey, another flash of inspiration!
With winter coming, and it getting dark earlier, how about... wait for it... The Cruisy Lunchtime Ride. Meeting somewhere in Wgtn city, we could do a quick ride somewhere and have lunch; or ride out and back, then have lunch at desks... 45mins tops so that people can stay employed so they can afford to keep their bikes What do you think?
I just had lunch with DrHook and he can't make it in the evenings 'coz of family... How cool if we did something say fortnightly, at Friday lunchtime?
How do I make this a voting thing so that people can vote whether or not they'd be interested?
You can tell I'm new and eager to ride as much as poss, but still keep the wif happy by not being gone too much! Haha!

Work pays for lunch (and gets it in) on Fridays.
Any day except Friday.

Stop bloody flashing, god damn it!
Yeah I have meetings just about all day on Fridays... I go to the gym at lunchtime normally during the week but if you set a day (thats not Friday) I'll be there. As long as its not Friday.

Umm Tuesday well you see Tuesday's just wont work for me.
Nah, Tuesday's would be fine. I dont have any time constraints, can take lunch whenever. I could make any day. Excpet Friday - just in case you missed that...

Dude, that's YOUR opinion. It could work. Just cause there's not a large turnout doesn't make any less worthy. Whats wrong with just riding for the sake of riding. I for one dont have a problem with that!

Yup, southern bays, then back through Brooklyn...
Or out through Wilton, Crofton Downs to J'ville then back.
Or Middleton Rd? Other ideas?
Tuesday afternoon seems a popular choice?

A great idea, but IMHO riding around Wgtn stuck in traffic doesn't sound like much fun.
FTR, I'm going to start a similar thing for us "Coasties" soon - lunch time rides departing from Paraparaumu.
Edit: Kapiti Lunch Time ride (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=28385)

To Johnsonville Subway/Maccas/KFC via the short way or longer ways. The possibilities are truly finite.

Not just my opinion, my sorta boss/team leader's too ; says he dont give a fuck how i spend my breaks so long as im back in time which is impossible (trust me, i tried it many times)
Not bitchy at all, i was out of line and its a fair call, if you guys think you can make it work then go ahead and prove me wrong! :bleh:
Still, even if it was here in the hutt, like RIGHT outside i still couldnt make it.
(and you better not start doing it right outside my work or i'll have to join ya wether my boss likes it or not ;))

I don't wanna be doin any riding outside Wasp's work. That's the one place I go to great lengths not to end up at after a ride :Police:
Not into a lunchtime ride myself. Would mean getting out of suit gear into bike gear, or riding in suit gear. As I have no self-control, it's unlikely I would be able to hang with cruisy riders in traffic for any length of time, and riding in suit pants and shoes is asking for pain and suffering if you meet traffic behaving like traffic so often does - particularly with the thin margins for error my lack of self-control leaves me.
But when maturity finally arrives (so people tell me it will eventually) I'm keen. I'm flexible with days.
Or I could just look at this as a learning experience. But I'm far too perfect to learn stuff at my age.

I could make it some weeks. Tuesdays would be fine, but as others said, You'd probably spend most of the time stuck in traffic

Damn, everyone knows where i work now... and i nearly had them all turning up too and you went and spoiled it! (not that i remember telling you where i work or that i want to see some people possibly lose their bikes)
Still a no go for me except mabye on days that i take off.
The main reason i see it not working is:
10 mins to get to a place
10 mins to get back
20 mins to socialise/stuff our faces
that means that 5 mins for a 45 min break or 20 mins for an hour break are left for riding!
not to mention if someone has any problems while on the ride they will be late back and cause others to be as well cos theres no way you could just abandon them!
And madboy is getting dangeroulsy close to 1,636 posts!
