My Stebel Nautilus Compact (http://www.nippynormans.com/prodinfo.asp?number=STB-NAUT-COM&variation=&aitem=4&mitem=4) just arrived in the mail. :eek5:
Can anyone recommend someone to install it and hook it up so I can easily switch back to the stock horn as I assume 139db wont pass a WOF.
There's some good install instructions (http://www.sv-portal.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18423) on my SV site.

Hey Spank,
i put one one me GIx was pretty simple really the only thing is you have to do is find a good spot to put it, i mounted mine under the seat, i cant remember my sv to well but i think there is plenty of room behind the motor in front of the shock, i ran a wire to my old horn (positive") and bingo good as gold, as far as getting a warrant, you can just plug the old horn back in simple, i dont know who would install it maybe an auto electrician" its a simple job if ya have some tools--
ps its fuckin loud--

No tools, no auto mechanic skills. I do computers, not mechanical stuff. Good to hear its loud. Sick of cagers ignoring the pussy horn on the SV.

Nothing in the WoF rules about being too loud. Too quiet, yep, and it's not allowed to play music. that's all.(oh, and has to be a horn, not a bell, siren, whistle, cat etc)

Spanks costed bout NZ$100ish - if your contact can get it around that price and help install the thing then I'd rather buy it from him.

if i ever try and install some hardout horns, ill probably just go for some seashell horns from repco or similar, they make some good noise and arent too expensive.

that's friggin awesome.. I'm gonna fit one to my bike and car...
hey Spank, fit a mercury switch and an on/off switch to the new horn, then when it's parked up flick the switch on. Anyone who sits the bike upright off the kickstand will activate the horn until the put it back on the kickstand.. $2 alarm.. easy as..

Thats a damn good idea. Why didn't I think of that? Just need to be careful and you remeber to turn it off before standing the bike up.

well yeah..
if you're real cleaver (which I try to be sometimes), you could make it so that the circuit/switch is off when the ignition is on, so you don't have to worry about on/off..
it'd scare the shit out of whoever tried to dick with your bike, and everyone looks when a horn goes off, but no one cares when an alarm goes off.
And a 140db horn in an underground carpark? fuk..

Hell yea, come back to see whats up and you find a whole lot of people kicking the shit out of someone, not for trying to take your bike mind you, but for blowing all their eardrums.
Spank, any possibility of posting a sound file once they are up and running?

It could be someone just wanting to sit on the bike, horn goes off and they drop the bike.

True, blown eardrums aren't the best for maintaining balance. :pinch:

why should they be touching it? I wouldn't be too keen on people sitting on my bike when I'm not around. Don't mind when I'm there and I know who they are, but when the bike is unattended, I don't want people jumping on it, no matter how wet in their pants they are.
And I'd rather a wannabe thief drops it where it's parked, than scoot off with it

What if there not a thief and where just having a look? Sure they shouldnt be touching it but if you didnt have the 139db horn as an alarm they wouldnt do any damage to it at all. (As im almost certian that a 139db horn would make them drop it)

Bugjuices bike is making P? One of the unaired monster garage episodes... Monster garage, P Lab in a 636!! Ride Paranoid, Ride Px636 express!! (don't forget your tin foil hats under helmet!!)
Spank, if you can put together a twin processor system you can install a horn!! I'd help if I was closer... Gutted.
JSG The internet and a credit card should do everything you need to get a loud horn!

Cool... Your gonna be on the lookout for fragile looking old grannies then, test the heart attack factor...
Could be useful for cop cars with hot coffee and doughnuts too...
